Heh, answered my question while I was posting it. Though I disagree with the premise a bit. I don't notice I can taste more nuances in iced coffee or tea. I actually feel like I get the most when it's warm, but not hot.- danimalia

It's interesting to note that that Jim has stated here and in his review that this version tastes a bit less sugary that prior versions, but this one has Virginias with higher sugar content per C&D. Jim's C&D Carolina Red Flake 2024 (Small Batch) Review.
Great review, per usual. I bought a tin, and am hoping I enjoy it as much as the last version I had (2019, maybe). I am glad C&D came through with a pretty hefty amount of tins with this release, so I should have an opportunity to buy another tin or two if I like it.- danimalia

Cameroon usually has more of an off color, like greenish-gray if that helps. The Serie O is like a straight Colorado brown, IMO.- danimalia

I misplaced my Ropp Vintage Stout Zulu. Such a wonderful pipe, and downright cheap for how great it is. And for such a nice, petite size, it had a very generous bowl. I sure hope it turns up, or I might, you know, have to buy another :LOL: -

I don't notice anything off about it in the photos. I think many/most pipes are slightly wonky in some places when closely examined. I think it is a very fine looking pipe, and 2 of my all-time favorite pipes have been unfinished Savinelli Series IIIs.- danimalia

I think it's different enough that it is at least worth a try. Latakia's smokiness is more herbal and incense like. DFK is more like a BBQ smokiness. As for what to try, you could jump into the deep end with something like HH Bold Kentucky. But I'd suggest GL Pease's JackKnife Plug if you like...- danimalia

Why I Never Drank Port Before.
Yeah, good port is nice, but I had the same beliefs. Similar to sherry. Old timey drinks. A trip to Spain cured my sherry-phobia, and a family friend who brought some port from a local winery to the house years ago, converted me to port.- danimalia
