Third Tin Of Regents Flake With Mold Issues

Yeah I did. He’s aware of it. I was thinking about reaching out to C&D since they’re the blenders (I’ve always supposed).

Third Tin Of Regents Flake With Mold Issues

This is really unfortunate. This is the third tin of my favorite tobacco that has been riddled with mold. I first discovered this issue back in the Fall and was noticed by a good friend of mine who smokes a lot of RF as well. A batch in November (August production date) had a bad mold...

***What Are You Smoking, March 2025?***

Directors Cut is slowly becoming my favorite tobacco. There is a really great distinction between really bright citriusy virginias and dark fired. Really pleasant smoke, especially after dinner.

Help fixing a cracked meer shank

It’s actually quite deep, it’s noticeable through the entire shank down to the insert. However I think I’ll just keep and eye on it

Help fixing a cracked meer shank

I pushed a little too hard trying to get the tenon into the shank the other day and noticed that it cracked a bit. I’ve heard about some people using epoxy but what other methods can I take to repair this?

***What Are You Smoking, February 2025?***

Smoking son HH Burley Flake in a 1950’s/60’s Comoy. I love this blend so much I genuinely don’t know if I’ll enjoy anything else once my cellar of it is gone. Been trying to get back into briars lately but just can’t do it after being an almost exclusive meerschaum smoker. Too much moisture...

    Packing Shag Cut

Like I mentioned, I am really enjoy Dark Bird's Eye but I haven't quite figured out how to pack shag. Since it tangles and clumps together, I can't quite tap and pack the way I would ribbon cut/flake tobacco. What I am doing now is gently balling it up and stuffing it into the pipe but I...

Well, I Think I Found My One and Only Codger Blend

Oh absolutely, its by no means a codger blend like Half&Half, Carter Hall, SWR, etc. but a codger blend in the sense that I can smoke this and nothing else for the rest of my days!

Well, I Think I Found My One and Only Codger Blend

Though not a codger blend itself, G.H. Dark Birds Eye is my new favorite. I have been smoking it for about a month while rotating through all of my other blends and it has consistently been the only blend I have been wanting to smoke since. I just bough two 500g bags of it for cellaring... I...

Show Off Your Meerschaum Pipes Here!

I had Kraig Sederquist make me a new stem for my Tekin. As always I am flabbergasted by his amazing work. Might send all of my meers to him for restemming.

Peterson Flake: My Palate or Truly Terrible?

Yeah I have but my like I mentioned, my palate is coming back. This was a weird one because I remember loving it and smoking through several tins. Now that I have aged it, I have no desire to touch it.

Peterson Flake: My Palate or Truly Terrible?

Not the maiden voyage and I actually recall enjoying it fresh out of the tin. Perhaps the aging actually did it an injustice

Peterson Flake: My Palate or Truly Terrible?

I've been working through some Peterson Flake that I cellared back in 2019 hoping to bring out some delicious flavor. While I have always struggled with Virginia's, since I quit snus, my taste for them has been slowly coming back. Peterson Flake on the other hand, especially aged, tastes like...

***What Are You Smoking, February 2025?***

I firmly believe there are no meerschaums that color as well as Tekin's.

***What Are You Smoking, February 2025?***

So cool to see a dad and his sons smoking together. I try to make it out to my folks as often as I can to share a bowl with my old man who got me smoking a pipe back in 2015.

Are Falcons Worth It In 2024?

Are Falcons Worth It In 2024?

man I feel like these comments are a perfect 50/50 split…. Maybe I’ll get a cobbit and put the spare change towards a forever stem

Are Falcons Worth It In 2024?

They’re honestly quite affordable ranging from $50-70 but I have hear complaints of the plastic stems over the historically vulcanite stems. Are they worth it (I’m thinking of a meer bowl)?
