Bulk to Jar vs Tin: Seeking tales of cellaring experience

Most of my knowledge of fermentation and understanding of yeast comes from brewing beer. This article better articulates a subject I know a bit about, but, by no means an expert. I firmly believe in aging in the tin, and the results are different...

What Have You Cellared the Longest?

Hmmm, don't like this but why?

Things change over time, including tastes. It can just take that one note to put someone off something. I wouldn't say I like Orilk GS fresh, but it's perfect after a year or more. My favorite blend is unsmokable to me until after three years of aging. Go figure!

Bulk to Jar vs Tin: Seeking tales of cellaring experience

The Country Squire Fans - Let's Talk

While I have not smoked these, I have some friends who love Old Toby and Bag End. However, tastebuds are subjective and unique to the individual. It could be that it's not in line with what is palpable to you.

    Tobacco suggestions?

If you like Nightcap, also try GLP Quiet Nights. It's a great blend, and I feel it's a little more well-rounded without some of the rough edges.

    Red Raparee

Its been a while since I smoked it, but it tasted closer to a Balkin than a latakia forward English blend.

I find it extremely satisfying when I can peel an orange all in one shot without the peel breaking.

I may sneak a VA flake in over the winter, but I hardly if ever smoke any English blends in the summer.
