    Why I smoke

It would be interesting to hear what type of tobacconist services are available in Bahrain. Anything unique or interesting unavailable in the states or elsewhere. Also, thank you for your service sir. Stay safe.

    Young Smokers: Post your reactions

Im glad I have the privelage of doing 85% of my smoking on 13 acres surrounded by woods. The only reactions I get come from my better half. Which are limited to how good, or bad, whatever im smoking smells. Otherwise, smoking in my truck, im to busy watching the road to be worried about if...

    C&D Blockade Runner

I had read that as well. It just puzzled me however because most of the time if the leaf has gone through that process, it seems the tin will specify it as such.

    C&D Blockade Runner

I just received Blockade Runner in the mail with my recent tobacco order (along with some Old Gowrie, excellent!). This is the first tobacco in my limited experience which I really had to slow down and think about it. Every puff was just rich dark earthiness. I don't know how else to describe...

Stick on one tobacco or change taste everyday?

I've settled into the groove of something light and undemanding in the morning (aromatics usually) and in the evening I pack in the deep thoughtful blends. I only get about two smokes per day due to the large amount of time spent at work indoors. So I have to make em count!

    Salesmanship? (a little long)

Darn it! I wish id have known about this. Im in Buchanan and I missed the Sept. meeting due to work. Is there an email list you can put me on? Id sure like to meet up with some fellow pipers. As to the store you speak of, the guy seems really nice but that's a very off-putting comment he made...

    Troubles with Sunset Breeze

Im a habitual lurker here lol. Think of it like im the guy that's always hanging around but doesn't ever say anything.

    Troubles with Sunset Breeze

I feel I should post an update on this. I've somewhat reconciled with this blend. I recently purchased some 1/2pint mason jars to store all my baccy for storage/ocd uniform reasons. Upon moving my sunset breeze from tin to jar, I said "why not?" and loaded it into a brand new MM great dane egg...

    Notes for the Rookies

Good post. Certainly some food for thought for us newbies. #4 seems to be a decisive point among several here. Im going to say I somewhat agree. Pipetrucker hit the nail on the head as far as that goes. I also agree that it's a bit vexing when someone merely says a pipe is a "good smoker". Im...

    Choosing Wisely

My personal collection is quite limited but, between my 3 cobs, basket italian briar and my Peterson 408, I have to say I enjoy the way my Peterson smokes the best. Pipes seem to be very much a YMMV type of thing. Im sure the more experienced pipers here can make an educated guess on how a pipe...

    Curative Properties of the Pipe

Getting over a cold right now actually. I found that the pipe smoke releived/numbed my sore throat and dried up my sinuses a bit. Can you prove it to be curative in a lab? I dunno. Don't care. It just plain works 8)

    Troubles with Sunset Breeze

I recently purchased a tin of Sunset Breeze by Peterson. I've had their Old Dublin and wanted to try an aromatic from them. My first bowl I packed straight from the tin, and as usual slightly on the loose side. I had serious troubles keeping it lit, it produced almost no flavor, and for an...

Thanks to the Guys Making the Effort to Upload an Avatar

Good job alienating new members by insulting their computer literacy. I've been lurking for a week or so and I liked the vibe here. What's the point in dragging out the forum nazi uniform? Ill probably just get run off now for speaking up... :?

    Youngest Person Here?

Nikko: I got the same reaction when I went to my local tobacco store for the first time. I started asking all sorts of questions about pipes and he just had a very cautious/confused look about him the whole time. Somewhat comical actually.

    Youngest Person Here?

24 here. Pretty sure early 20's pipe smokers are a rarity. 18 year old pipe smokers even more so! There's no reason this hobby shouldn't or can't be enjoyed by the younger crowd. Nowadays with the internet and everyone being connected 24/7, you can learn more about pipe smoking in a week than in...

what to do with the alcohol after cleaning pipe?

House of Stuart? Yikes! Id keep that purely for cleaning purposes. Had some interesting nights involving House of Stuart... none ended well

    PAD Delivery!

I currently have 3 MM cobs, I didn't make any effort to remove any excess glue at all. Not that there was much to begin with. If it makes you feel better, go ahead. But they've been smoking just fine without any extra attention. Stuff and puff brother 8)

wat do u like drinking when smoke

I've found coffee is a good compliment as well, light on the sugar. Green tea is another one I've enjoyed. I haven't tried anything alcoholic with a smoke yet. I imagine some good single malt would fit in well.

How Many Pipes Do U Have?

I have 4 currently. Just got into pipe smoking a month ago. Got 3 cobs and a cheap basket briar. Doing a lot of research and price comparison before I jump into my first "big name briar" purchase.

    For the first time ever!!!

Just dug up this thread on a google search. Mark informed of the meeting in another forum but unfortunately I had to work. How far ahead of time will these be planned? Id love to get together with some fellow west Georgia pipe smokers. Side note: the cigar depot is a cool little store, few and...
