    First Crack at Pipe Making

Until you rusticated it, I thought it was on the chunky side, but now I see why you leave a little extra meat on the bone... The rustication lightens it up nicely. I would say that it's a terrific pipe, especially since it's your first. Well done.

    The Great Conjunction

Even better, some of those Coulters are wretched if you want to apply any magnification. Mine is completely custom in all aspects except the tube itself. So while it's pretty tweaked, it's no Zambuto. Happy viewing!!!

    The Great Conjunction

"17.5" Someone owns one of those old Coulter light buckets.... My Coulter 10" will be out tomorrow if seeing is good - it will, of course, be cloudy tonight, because Astronomy (and living in the Midwest)...

    Thoughts on Giant Pipes

For me, large pipes lean toward the "Pipe Art" side of the "Art/Utility" spectrum, but I am kind of a wood freak, so I like them. Having said that, they don't often make an appearance in my rotation.

    Tasting - How To?

^^ "A slow sipping cadence rewards you with the best flavors." If I had to point to only one thing that contributes the most to yielding the fullest range of "flavor" from your tobacco, imo, this is it. If you have ever lit a bowl and was amazed by the first 15 seconds of smoking and then...

    Proper Pipe Storage.

Then there is this time-tested method of storage... (Don't freak. My "nice" pipes are not in this image.)

Am I Late to the Party?

Not only is there no time like the present, the present is the only time we have. (I just made that up.) Embrace today, there are lots of great, great blends to enjoy.

Have You Ever Seen A Beer Can Like This?

I bet these types of cans are not used much because they are more expensive. It looks like a more complicated configuration at the top to manufacture, requiring more complicated tooling, and probably requires more material. So, interesting from a novelty standpoint, but vulnerable to...

    $150-200 Pipe Suggestions?

I agree with @hoosierpipeguy. I love my Radice pipes, but in terms of collecting/using something special I often deliberately support U.S. pipe makers. Again, no knock to those making amazing pipes overseas, but some of the work being done domestically is so cool. For example, Mark Tinsky is...

You Will Have To Be Patient with Me

If I wasn't aware of your diagnosis before today, I apologize. And I am sorry to hear that. I hope you have lots of support going forward. You certainly can mention how you are doing in this place. BTW, "Close to the Edge" is the first record I ever heard that wasn't part of my Dad's...
