I'll have to second what winton said. My worst experience wasn't the baccy, it was just a nic hit from hell. One week into pipe smoking (having never been a smoker), three consecutive bowls of Robert McConnell Glen Piper and I was sprawled out on the bed sweating and head spinning. Just like...
@portascat: A forum admin flexing some internet muscle is weird? Meh, I'd say it's par for the course on just about any forum. Not really sure why this was a public hanging. Its not like anyone would have said "Gee I wonder whatever happened to so-and-so". Silent bans seem sufficient 8)
Definitely a keeper! Looks like it's in great condition. Absolute highway robbery at $10 too. Pipe stands just don't look right 'till they're filled with pipes
Wow, rockin' grain on those pipes. I like the color of them too, is that a yellow stain? Or a really light brown? Either way, it brings out the grain really well. 8)
Ya know... I really like Petersons. I really like green. But for some reason, these just aren't doin' it for me. :( If I had to pick, i'd go with the egg.
Honestly as cheap as MM cobs are, new and from more trustworthy sources, there's no reason to get a cob off of ebay. Unless its some vintage style no longer in production or some such thing.
WOW! @ those massive cake build-ups 8O the one OTD posted has got to be years of hard smoking and neglect on that thing. Just out of curiosity, what are you hoping to get outta that one?
I suppose the point is: Get involved! I'm not in the UK, but that stands true for any country. If you don't voice displeasure over continued limitations on smoking, it will only get worse. :(
My favorite is the "just got home from work" smoke. I'll often make my decision at work on which pipe and which blend to smoke when I get home. It gives me something to look forward to I guess, not to mention it melts away much of the day's stresses. Can't beat it, for me anyway. 8)
No rotation here. Although, my pipes get at least a day of rest between smokes. Other than that, it's whichever one suits my fancy depending on what I feel like smoking and how much time I have to smoke.
I've been curious to hear feedback on some of his blends. When his website was highlighted on the forums here, I went over and read the whole thing. Interesting, if not a little fairytale-ish in the way they tell his "rags to riches" story. I digress.
Unfortunately, I think the fact that most...
I've been drooling over that same pipe for a month now! The bent bulldog with the saddle-bit is just awesome looking. I am the deepest shade of green with envy right now
I'm gonnna have to chalk another one up to Virginias and Va/Pers. They just hit the spot. The flavor profiles and aromas are what i'm looking for. However, i've recently been digging some Carter Hall. Which is more on the Burley side, if i'm not mistaken.
Anything that's medium-heavy on the...
 I logged on a while ago while it was only the subforums showing and was like: "Oh what the hell is wrong with my computer?" After refreshing several times, I gave up and had to unload some boxes/handle customers at work. Just came back and it's back to normal. I was seriously about to go...
Presently, only pipe tobacco. One day I may pick up a few cigars to give 'em a try, but I honestly don't have a desire to at this point. Some casual browsing online has shown me that they're a bit more expensive than pipe tobacco. I'm open to suggestions though 8)
Glad to see another positive reveiw of these pipes here on the forums. A Mr. Brog is definitely on my "Buy it soon" list, but if my better half sees another pipe come outta my mail box this week, she's gonna beat the shit outta me
