It's Been A Whole Year Already?

Oh hell, that's already happened.... Already had to pull the whole "better to ask forgiveness" bit over a $400 pipe....

It's Been A Whole Year Already?

Yep. Ain't going nowhere anytime soon! :nana:

It's Been A Whole Year Already?

Haha, thanks Anthony, I figured I probably would! Thanks all, I appreciate the warm comments. This forum has helped me in more ways than I can count and I'm always happy to contribute anything of value or even of no value to any conversation! It's been a pleasure so far and will, I'm sure...

It's Been A Whole Year Already?

Can't believe I've been here a year already. Seems like only yesterday I joined up and started wondering what all the crazy sumbitches with a little signature or title denoting a "Brother of the Black Frigate" was all about. All I knew, was I had to find out. Here I am, a year later, 30 tins of...

The Missouri Meerschaum Bully 2019, The First of Several In A Limited Release

My stem is a tiny bit crooked. Looks like the mortise was drilled a bit out of line, but it still smokes just great to me. That's a good looking mod on a cob.

Question: How Are/Were Rear Paddle Steamers Steered?

I assumed they were steered like this with two or more rudders behind the paddle wheels:

MM Cobbit, Carolina Gent, Charles Towne Cobbler, and Dagner Poker Back In Stock!

I agree Tom. Their line of pipes in the $20 tier are great and definitively not a disposable pipe, but neither you or I really see any MM offerings as disposable. The higher end cobs they produce are so well done, I fully expect to get quite a lot of years enjoyment out of them. No matter how...

    RIP Peter Mayhew

Yeah, he suffered from gigantism and it can place a heavy burden on the body's bones and heart. This is the primary reason in most of the newer movies, he played more of a consulting role.

    RIP Peter Mayhew

True, they can, and have, but it's not the same to me. Maybe to others it is, but to me, Peter Mayhew WAS Chewbacca. Other actors have played the part in the latest movies and that's fine, he couldn't do it forever, but that's just how I feel about it.

    RIP Peter Mayhew

I am probably one of the biggest Star Wars fans of anyone I know and I am saddened beyong belief that our beloved Chewy has passed on. Rest in peace you loveable fuzzball.

    2019 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs

Yeah, my boss is a huge fan and was at the Carolina game last night. He could barely hear me this morning. I mean, those guys are so wrought with injuries it's kind of hard to believe. Rooting for the home team hard! This town is in a bit of a Hurricane fever right now and it's great!

    Dagner Missouri Meerschaum Cob Poker

Sometimes the first few smokes do, just until you get it broken in. I typically keep it with some simple tobacco for the first few smokes, like CH or something OTC. I will usually just burn light bowls of CH through my new cobs for a while and can usually tell when I'm ready to move on, but my...

MM Cobbit, Carolina Gent, Charles Towne Cobbler, and Dagner Poker Back In Stock!

Looks like MM has been hard at it and has replenished their stock of the following: All Cobbits In, even the collection set (I know some weren't out, but at least two were sold out for a while) Carolina Gent Charles Towne Cobbler Dagner Poker Each link above should take you to the right page...

    Dagner Missouri Meerschaum Cob Poker

That weird taste could have just been the coating on the inside or even just the virgin cob flavor that you're not quite accustomed to tasting in any other pipe. As far as getting too hot too fast, it could have been packed too tight for the cob.

New Tamper Design - Work In Progress

Decided I wanted to do something fun with a tamper and try some things out I've been meaning to try, so I grabbed a piece of Granadillo and went to work. I still need to get some finer tipped dremel bits to clean the corners, but I think it's coming along quite nicely:

The Missouri Meerschaum Bully 2019, The First of Several In A Limited Release

Uh, yeah, that's a bit steep. I once saw one of the MM Reverse Calabash pipes on there going for $100. Now I could maybe see one of those going for $100 if one wanted it badly enough, but it's a larger pipe and a little harder to come by.

It's Official -- Peterson Tobaccos Are Back

Well that was fast. I literally just looked a half hour ago and they still had it. Wow, that moved quick.

    Looking for Cheap Alternative

I don't mind a longer wait for a product that looks just as good or even better for half or a third the price as other big name brand pipes. I might just have to pick one up sometime just to see what they're like and if I like them, hell, they could become more of my stable.

    Looking for Cheap Alternative

Okay, am I missing something here, or what? That site linked to Alexander Briar Pipes has some quite good looking pipes and some of them are less than $30 and even some I'd buy in a heartbeat for less than $20....I feel like I'm missing something because some of those look better than the Rossi...
