Pipe Rest Recommendations for an Oom-Paul

You can make a temporary one out of the tube from a toilet roll. I use those when I'm refurbishing pipes e.g. salt and alcohol treatment.

Pipe Rest Recommendations for an Oom-Paul

I find that the rests that are made from a strip of leather or webbing with the ends fixed together will hold an Oom Paul just fine.

Drying a Flake to be Folded and Stuffed

It's a method I learned of my uncle. I've no idea how common it is but I've never seen it shared online. Of course, each to their own, it's just the method I absorbed as a youngster.

Drying a Flake to be Folded and Stuffed

If you tease it apart to the consistency it'll be when folded it will dry more quickly.

    Tamper for Meerschaum

I couldn't find Dark XX. I know it's sold in 25g pouches for chewing, but it's an excellent pipe tobacco.

***What Are You Smoking, February 2022?***

Another evening, another bowl of Revor Plug in an Oom Paul. This time it's a sandblasted Ropp Heritage with a tapered vulcanite stem. Also in the picture is a Gigi Oom Paul that I'm in the middle of restoring.
