I'd clench that by testing the button against the roof of my mouth and pivoting it against my lower lip. It would direct the smoke much like a P-Lip which would suit me fine.
The idea behind smoking half bowls is to get a carbon coating at the base of the chamber and round the draught hole. There are two reasons you might want to do this, firstly it's the hardest bit to get cake going, and secondly it's the part of the pipe most likely to get scorched by over...
I missed that bit. St Bruno and Condor both meet that criterion, and both are sold in supermarkets here. I'd recommend trying St Bruno first then Condor if you enjoy the former.
Go to GQ take a look at their sample sets and see if any strike your fancy. I've had a look but I didn't see a set that I could recommend to a beginner without some reservations. They also do 10g samples of all their loose tobaccos which is enough for a few bowls.
I wish it was. It's a first patent pipe, so it's between 1890 and 1894. It's up for sale, but beyond my means. I could DM the link to you. I'd love it to end up on display in a Peterson museum.
Bring back this shape, please? After all, it was The notoriety gained by Kruger buying one of these that made the Peterson name famous. I'd prefer it with a nice Cumberland stem, rather than green.
I can't imagine Charles Peterson putting his name to these pipes. Yet the corporate body that bought the rights to the name is happy to do so. Such is the power of branding.
