    Preparing for winter

I'm in MN so same predicament. In the past I've simply stopped smoking in the winter, but I'd rather not this year. I can go to the garage, but that can be cold as all get out too. Can one run a propane-based heater in the garage, or is that a recipe for instant death?

What is The Average Age of Your Cellar?

I started it in 2013 and worked on it hard that year- so 2 years is average.

    Yeah that sounds weird.

    Please Pass This On

I'd say they had holiday themes, not Christian themes. I'm a right wing Christian, and I think the uproar on the cups is crazy.

Adding Latakia And Oriental To Anni Kake

I could probably comfortably wing the Lat....it's the oriental I really don't know.

Adding Latakia And Oriental To Anni Kake

Bumping my own thread because I'm young, impatient, and really look forward to some opinions.

Adding Latakia And Oriental To Anni Kake

Hi all. I have about 1.5 pounds of H&H Anni Kake in the cellar. I like it, so I recently acquired another 1.5 pounds to put up. I usually do this by dividing into 2oz Mason jars. Recently I've fallen in love with Frog Morton On The Town and it's peaked my interest in sweeter Virginia forward...

    A Great Set of Racks!

Those look great. I've been debating building some racks for myself too.

Color me pretty. Stains suitable for pipes.

So after reading much on this- I would not use minwax on a pipe. That said several years ago my wife bought me a beat up old Dr. Grabow that I didn't really care about. I sanded it down, stained with minwax, and buffed a little. And darn it, if that little pipe doesn't smoke really well...

    New PAD- Sav Apple

@hakchuma- I'm not sure yet. I'm torn between dedicating to Virginia blends vs. Latakia.

    One step closer.

That's a nice set of dogs you have there.

    How does it happen?

I think the smoker's technique develops- and out of that comes the ability to appreciate more flavor. I always "oversmoked" everything...so it was too hot and bitter. Once I learned to slow down and sip much more flavor came forward.

    Is this Orlik golden slice?

That would also have to be pretty old OGS to be that dark in color...

    Finally Hit a Cellar Goal

Well done. I miss working in ministry where I got gifts like that (we were once given a $2500 free pass to a furniture store from a virtual stranger). As a nursing supervisor, I don't get much. Got a coffee gift card for boss's day recently. :)
