    Outside Smoke Versus Inside Smoke

I don't seem to have trouble outdoors, in fact, I think I prefer it to being stuck inside the garage in the cold weather. A slight breeze seems to diminish the relights in many cases. I know how to turn my head to increase / decrease the breeze over the bowl............

***What Are You Smoking, October 2025?***

Louisiana Broken in a brand new Halloween 2025 Peterson 312. No "breaking in" necessary. It was born ready to go!

    Show Off Your Petersons Here!

And a damn fine smoker it is. Inaugural was an almost new-to-me blend (3rd or 4th bowl) of Louisiana Broken. This is going to get a lot of use this month. I like it.

    Show Off Your Petersons Here!

The 314 has been my favorite system standard for some time, but these new releases share the same stem, which makes the 312 a new favorite for me; very similar profile, slightly larger bowl & chamber, but same clench. This Halloween special arrived today and I took a few quick pics at lunch...

    Spores

Well, I learned too. Pretty cool. I guess if I'd known I could have tried to place them on some of my food plants.... I'll know next time.

There's lots of things in the wild that are 100% organic that I wouldn't touch!

From my very limited observation, I'm under the impression that most every one that is edible, has a very similar looking counterpart that is somewhere between no bueno to deadly. It's about that way with a lot of wild herbs too, but usually a little less on the deadly side.

How Do You Pick Your Next Smoke?

Oh, regarding the pipes. I have lots of "favorite" Petersons, but one I've got the most of is 314's. I've got a circular rack that holds a dozen, and I've got 11 of them on the rack, with a single space to help me pick the "next one" in line, so that little empty space slowly rotates 'round &...

I have all kinds of mushrooms all over my property. Too bad I have no idea which ones are edible. So I pass.

These particular tins are just hanging out in my garage, they are one-offs just for me to open. Some up to 5 years, western Arkansas, never any issues. This is not my long term storage area.......... Storage area inside is temp & humidity controlled.

It's really not moist. Just a bit of humidity in the ambient air, which isn't that much right now. It's hanging at 71% right now.... No dampness in the area. It seems to be just an oddity.

How Do You Pick Your Next Smoke?

I try to limit the # of tins open, as I don't want to crowd my shelves with unwieldy jars of partially consumed tins; so I limit it to about 6 open tins and try to work my way through them before opening more. (I've already got about a dozen jars in a different section for blends I didn't...

I keep the bulk of my leaf inside in my temperature & humidity controlled home; but a lot of my soon to try leaf, is in my "not controlled" garage. I looked up at my shelf this weekend and saw this in front of my eyes; and took it outside for the pic. Here's a view from the side: I wiped...
