Peterson sizing
You won’t confuse it with a House or Pup pipe. It’s definitely smaller than both of those. I love the 302 I have and it’s one of my pipes I’ll never get rid of -

Then based on owning both I’d go with the 302. You can always pack less and/or lighter with the 302, and it’s close to the Savinelli you have now. The 303 would work better if you were looking for a shorter duration smoke -

What cut do you usually smoke? If you’re smoking a ribbon cut the 302 is probably the right size. If you’re mostly smoking flakes and coins, the 303 would likely work better -

I have 2 302’s - a Deluxe 2s which is 32x20mm and a 302 Standard that is 37x20mm. They vary a bit. I think the 302 is more of a medium size and the 303 is a small chamber, but it’s all relative -

Need a Peterson Recommendation
I have 301 that came with a fishtail mouthpiece and didnt care for it. I had Briarville make a p-lip for me and vastly prefer it over the fishtail. They still offer the standard system with a fishtail. I’m not sure if the fishtail also has the graduated bore which is a big part of how the system... -
