    Peterson Deluxe 9B

It’s the first scrolling ad that shows at the top of the homepage. Everything else in that lineup was recently released, including the Rossi pipes that dropped yesterday. I’d assume they’ll drop relatively soon based on that

    Peterson Deluxe 9B

Looks like the Deluxe 9B is making a comeback: https://www.laudisi.com/search.cfm?q=9B Don't recall seeing any announcements on this one yet. It’s also on Laudisi’s homepage so it seems they will be available fairly soon.

    My First Meerschaum

For what’s it’s worth I have both true spigot and false spigot meerschaums, and I prefer the false spigot. It seems like it’s a more secure connection although I don’t notice much difference in how they smoke. For reference - true spigot on left, false spigot on right:

    My First Meerschaum

My first meerschaum was an AKB and even after buying a few more since I still like and use the AKB regularly. If you like the style based on my experience I would say go for it

    One Month Progress

Looking good! I've got an H. Ege pipe I'm breaking in at the moment and loving it. The coloring on yours is coming along nicely after a month

    Bright Virginias: Cigarette Like?

I had the exact same experience starting out and was even getting cigarette notes from some of the blends you mentioned. The cure for this was to slow down my cadence and inhale substantially softer. It’s hard to describe something like this without seeing it in person, but when you can keep...

Planning to buy a new Peder Jeppesen pipe

I have 3 each from Neerup and the Peder Jeppesen line, and they are probably my favorite briar pipes at the moment. I clench all of my pipes, and Peder has a way of designing pipes with large chambers that are on the heavy side that are still phenomenal clenchers. They also tend to have thicker...

Help me decide on a new VA Pipe: Meerschaum or Briar

I have both a Savinelli Roma and multiple meerschaums, several of which are exclusively dedicated to VA's. I don't think it makes much difference, although I prefer meerschaum pipes in general so I smoke those more often as a result. You really can't go wrong with either choice. If you don't...

To Rub or Not to Rub?

Yes. I rarely ever rub flakes out unless it’s a Samuel Gawith flake, and even then I rub them out so that they reach the proper moisture in a reasonable amount of time. If SG flakes didn’t come sopping wet from the factory I’d fold and stuff those flakes too

To Rub or Not to Rub?

I’ve got a few pounds of 400 and at least for me once you start handling it it becomes a broken flake anyway, regardless of how gentle you are with the flakes. Can’t say I notice a huge difference in flavor either way. I store them as flakes and tend to smoke it that way, but I don’t have a...

    Premium: A Quality to Ponder

I love Opening Night and buy it by the pound. Whether or not the lack of casing makes it premium is relative to Samuel Gawith or Capstan or whoever is in the eye of one buying it. I also think there is something to the fact that over centuries of pipe smoking, tobacco blenders have landed on...

    Premium: A Quality to Ponder

Since you grow your own tobacco - do you feel unadulterated tobacco has substantially better flavor/nuance that you don’t bother with buying commercially produced tins?

    Cringle Flake 2022

No need to apologize. Offense is taken not given. Apparently there are people out there that have such an advanced ability to discern nuances in blends that they can not only pick them out in their own pipe but have the ability to discern how you are experiencing it too

    Cringle Flake 2022

Everyone knows that the usage of the words crap and feces are eliminated from your vocabulary the day you hit the 6 month mark of pipe smoking. It’s like a snake shedding its skin but for your brain. It’s science

    Old school jm boswell

I received a 2 oz sample with a pipe I bought awhile ago. It’s a pretty straightforward burley blend, so it’s got that chocolate and nutty flavor going on. It’s got what I think is a vanilla topping that comes through in the aroma but doesn’t really translate to the taste. If you like codger...

    The Dedicated Pipe Dilemma

Do you have a significant other? Because that changes the calculus dramatically. If you do, then the correct answer is that each tin requires a dedicated pipe, which has the dual benefit of justifying your current collection and all future pipe purchases

    Show Off Your Petersons Here!

I didn’t like the new rustication either until I got one and now I love it. I feel like it will be one of those things that when Peterson changes it in the future people are going to complain about it and want them to go back to making it like they do now

Knowing When to Quit a Bowl

I don’t quit a tobacco bowl or anything else for that matter. Can’t even count the amount of free concert tickets I’ve won from radio contests because I simply refused to get off the phone
