    Pipe Shapes/Styles I "Should" Try/Experience

I think your initial question is a bit vague to give a decent answer on shapes, never mind sizes. I guess it would depend a bit on what sort of a smoker you are. Do you tend to smoke indoors or outdoors, seated vs out and about?

    Pie In My Face

Indeed. We are eyeballs deep in rhubarb right now. No strawberries though, so we do store bought. Pies first, then all the jelly we can make. Great stuff.

Jacob Michelson on Radio Show of May 24, 2022

This was a great interview! I think it’s really special how Jacob got to begin his pipe journey with his dad’s collection. It was really touching how he had something he shared with his dad like that. I have 3 sons myself, and have some nice things that I have set aside for them in the future...

    Perique Fatigue

Im a big fan of that one also, and thats how I found poplar camp. They’re cousins in the “perique bomb” end of the c&d catalogue. The perique content is similar and the dash of unsweetened cavendish rounds it out nicely. You may want to give it a try some time. I find even slight changes help to...

    Perique Fatigue

Indeed. I prefer perique generally, and do switch up in that blend family also. Mostly, it has to do with price. I smoke more than most, I think, so I can’t smoke st James flake or Haddos delight every day lol.

    Feeling Sheepish

I’ve had as much facial hair as I can get away with pretty much my whole life. I shaved what hair didn’t pass for decent looking till maybe 10 yrs ago. Since then, I only have used a beard trimmer for touch ups around the edges, and get a good trim from the barber for seasonal needs. Aside from...

    Perique Fatigue

I think it can happen with anything, really. I usually smoke C&D poplar camp daily. However I do switch my tobacco up every 4 or 5 days no matter what. Sometimes English, or a solid burley. Recently it was Dutch masters whiskey. I figure, this way I’ll never get flavor fatigue from a blend. It’s...

    Wood Match Annoyance

My guess is your using kitchen or fireplace matches. There are much better quality out there, that light smoothly. I highly recommend three star safety matches. They’re made by Swedish match. Low smell, decent burn and the bod even looks cool.

    New Fancy Plug Knives

Nice set of knives there. I too have found a solid clever works well for plug cutting. Particularly Peterson 3p

Amphora Kentucky Blend: High-end Tobacco in a Pouch?

I finished off the pouch a few days ago, and have to say I like it. I think I’m gonna stick with the ODF RR in bulk though. I am however going to try the Virginia and others in the near future.

Amphora Kentucky Blend: High-end Tobacco in a Pouch?

That seems to be what the Sutliff man had to say on the smokingpipes video. They were trying to move into putting more premium lines into pouches for the American market.

Amphora Kentucky Blend: High-end Tobacco in a Pouch?

Interesting, so are some recent additions to the line, and the full etc are the classic end? I’m kind of dumbstruck I didnt try this sooner, mostly bc of the pouch. Peterson put out some pouches awhile back, I tried the English, which was pretty good.

Amphora Kentucky Blend: High-end Tobacco in a Pouch?

I see my mistake, it’s called MacBaren amphora, not just amphora.

Amphora Kentucky Blend: High-end Tobacco in a Pouch?

I just opened a pouch of this today for the first time. I was thinking about working through a pouch of each from the whole line, but thought they were old times aromatic blends. I have to say I was shocked at how good it is. Like, as soon as I opened the pouch I knew. Then I see it’s a...

    Love That Brand

I just got the first one delivered yesterday, so I’m smoking the Kentucky blend today.

Storytime with Fred Janusek on Radio Show of May 3, 2022

Always great to hear from Jeremy @ C&D! I found his packing method interesting, although I’m a “dip in the pouch” man mostly. Whatever works well for you, right? I’m really digging these story time series, and Mr Janusek sounds like he had a lot of great experiences in the pipe world. I’m...

    Love That Brand

I smoke a lot of c&d myself. That’s more of a quality/ price ratio, and I like the company itself. I’m also a big fan of the non aromatic Peterson line, both classic and dunhill, and the G&H family. Aside from that, I try new things all the time. I working on the amphora line a pouch at a time...

    "Essential" Blends for a Beginner?

If you’re still easing away from full aromatic: I’d say start on Prince Albert for a classic burley, then Carter hall for an easy introduction/ understanding of Virginia, some early morning pipe for an English and lastly deluxe navy rolls for a Virginia perique. That’s probably a good range...

    Label.

Also, write legibly. I once found a jar of brown flake #? and can’t for the life of me figure out what it says. Delicious though. Definitely Sam gawith family, and tasted slightly of vanilla. Haunts my dreams lol.

    Dutch Masters Cavendish

I just ordered a few pouches and some cobs. Gonna check it out further.
