Assuming the same material, does pipe shape matter?

People will say that a much longer pipe (churchwarden) has the potential to deliver cooler smoke. And then people will say “you can get hot smoke from any length of a pipe” - Bad technique means even a very long pipe can deliver smoke that’s too hot. And some people will say “you can get a...

Sandblast vs Smooth - and the questionable art of partial blasting...

Pretty smooth grain is for the eyes. Nice sandblasting is for actually holding the pipe

New Interview with Per G Jensen on Mac Baren's Demise

Let’s not disregard Daughter’s and Ryan. Alternatively, whole leaf tobacco isn’t exactly a blend but it’s a fine smoke.

Ken Byron Ventures’ Post About Loss Of Sutliff

I enjoyed going to a brick and mortar store in Nashville. The only tobacco they sold loose (with their own names on the jars) was from C&D. It was no secret what the blends were. The store simply told you the name C&D has for each one. It was wonderful. I hope more store do this. I discovered a...

Agreeing with this. Also, check out a tobacco first. Then, look it up and see where you coincide and disagree with other people. Your review is the most important, followed closely by @JimInks.

Help getting started with first pipes, tobacco, etc.

Cobs are fine in their own right, but they should not be training wheels for briar. Get the Peterson, the Sav, or the Rossi. Also, don’t think aromatics are training wheels for non aromatic tobacco. They are fine in their own right. I don’t smoke them. I don’t know if I know how to smoke them...
