I’ve seen estate pipes listed with the description “minor bowl carbonization” and I’ve seen some that look like the briar in the bowl has gotten a little worn down. Sounds reasonable. You can’t burn tobacco deeper than what is exposed on the general surface area. Until you burn tobacco down the chamber, time smoking is the only thing you have.- dogparkpiper
