Just Mixed Lane Buttered Rum with BCA
Today I smoked LL BCA for the first time in 10 years. I was left feeling indifferent. It was kind of bland. The BR bit me a little for some reason. I decided to mix 2/3 LL Buttered Rum with 1/3 BCA. Hoping this improves on both. Anyone else try this? I won't be trying it until the weekend.- crazyhog

My smoke this morning was with my Doc Cob, again, Lane BCA and bai kula watermelon water. I haven't smoked Lane BCA in years and found it to be bland. I'll be using it only for some mixing in the future.- crazyhog

Good to hear! I have the same issue. Luckily, I have a park just across the street with several benches. I don't smoke that often and I think this is one of the reasons. It is a bit of PITA.- crazyhog

I did try clenching it gently and there was plenty of room. Pic next to my much larger Savinelli. -

It feels pretty good to me, although I am not a clencher. The bit is a little narrower than my larger Rattray or Savinelli billiards, but wider than a MM Corn Cob Italian acrylic stem. It doesnt feel short to me. It is a lovat. My first one. Everything is VERY tight and appears well... -
My New Vauen Royal 569 has Arrived!
I couldn't be happier. I ordered it from SP on Monday and it arrived in NY today. Pipe is beautiful and just the right size for me. Sandblast and SS band are perfect. Some new tobacco also to try out. -

FYI, Reasons for internal staining: Manufacturers' practices: Some pipe makers may stain the inside of the shank and mortise during production, sometimes as part of their finishing process, though this can occasionally affect taste in the initial smokes. -

I decided to look at the mortise of my new Rattray Emblem. It's bowl is nicely carbonated. Looking into the mortise and shank it was a light stained red. I dipped a pipe cleaner in some Everclear and look what came out. My Savinelli Onda was not stained like this. It is clean now, after... -

Are you speaking of the carbon coating or a stain in the chamber? I have one Savinelli with a carbon coating, but I haven't smoked out of yet. -
Vauen White Dot vs Non White Dot?
Well, I placed my order for the Vauen Royal white dot and a couple of other things. I never tried RLP-6 before. Hopefully, I will have it by Thursday using UPS Surepost. -
