    First Smoke in 13 Months

Glad you're back. Like others have said take it easy. I dont think a bowl every couple of months would be an issue, but ask your doc just to be sure. All the best

    Petersons vs Savinelli?

I think Savs are more consistent in their engineering and smoking qualities. Many newer Petes seem to be hit or miss

Best Pipe Shop In Your Area

That would be none. The closest would be in Manhattan about 35 miles away, but a 90 minute commute.

    Advise on Good Pipe Restorer

Boswells in PA did some work for me some years ago. I was happy with the results and quick turnaround. All the other recommendations are excellent also. Good luck.

    A "strong" soft flame lighter?

Hi, I live very close to the Long Island Sound in NY. That's where I usually light up. Lately, the winds have picked up and I'm having trouble lighting up with either my bic or zippo. Is there a stronger soft flame lighter out there? Thanks

    MOLD MOLD MOLD!!!

OMG!!! Personally, if I thought I was smoking tobacco with mold, I would run to my doctor for a complete physical and chest xrays. This is one reason that I also only by ribbon or flake cuts. I also try not to leave it in the tin for more than a couple of months. Good luck.

New Proposed Bill Seeks to Eliminate Online Tobacco Sales

I highly doubt that bill will pass as written. That's not to say that a toned down version won't pass in the near future. I'm glad I'm a casual puffer and that a 50 gram tin will last me almost three months. Unfortunately, many fellow pipers go through this amount weekly.

A Slightly Altered Perception Of Flavor

I found that when I smoked both cigars and pipes that the cigars would alter the taste of my pipe tobacco. Almost as though cigars were "ghosting" my palate. This would happen even after a couple of days went by since I had a cigar. Needless to say, I know longer smoke cigars.

    Have Today's Vulcanite Stems Improved?

EDIT: Fixed Capitalization in Title (See Rule 9) - Bob Hi, I'm looking at some new Petersons. Particularly, the Sherlock Holmes series. I'm seeing that they all come with vulcanite stems. I read in another forum that the vulcanite being used today is more durable and less prone to oxidation...

Recommendation for a nice 3 in 1 Czeck Tool"

Hi, I've been using that standard Czeck 3 in 1 pipe tool for years now. I'd like to upgrade to something nicer. Preferably around $20 to $30. Any recommendations? Thanks
