    A Satisfying Finish

I find a little satisfaction picking up the polishing cloth that's always at hand and rubbing the warm pipe down.

    Rainy Weather Smokes?

Right now I’m in the SoAZ desert where we haven’t had rain in months but back in the upper Midwest I love to smoke my pipe on a rainy day with nowhere to go and nothing to do or in the evening watching a thunder storm roll in from the west. Very Relaxing

How Do You Refill Clippers So That They Light Well?

I put the can under my arm while I wait for the lighter to cool down. I think “blast” is the better word to use. Get a cheap triple cigar torch with a transparent tank and you’ll see what we mean.

How Do You Refill Clippers So That They Light Well?

Another thing is that I’ve found that the pressure equalizes between the can and the lighter so you need to “pump” the can a few times to give it a boost. Freeze the lighter and warm the can to get the max fill.

How Do You Refill Clippers So That They Light Well?

I thought the clipper lighters were junk and gave up on them long ago. If I travel with a lighter it’s usually a Bic with a chimney. I don’t like the king brand or any butane that has the metal filler. I think the plastic filler mates better with the lighter and adapters.

Air Filter/Purifier Machine for Smoking in the Car

I smoke cigars in my car and use Ozium to keep it sort of fresh. It's amazing how fast smoke clouds the windows.

    Who Makes Replacement Stems?

My one experience with Norwood was not good. James Connelly at Stem And Briar is who I would recommend. He’s busy with the Chicago Show but I’ve heard his turn around is fast.

    A Leaking camper

Yes, as a former travel trailer owner they are a money pit constantly in need of repair.

    Pope Francis, 88, has died

Wow! What a memory! A pipe pal snapped the perfect selfie with the Pope coming out of an event in NYC. He was in the right place at the right time. RIP

What Was Your First "I Gotta Buy 5 Pounds of This Stuff!" Tobacco?

My first 5lb “Pillow” was EMP. Other “Pillows” I’ve bought are Crown Achievement, McClelland 5110, AM Pipe and Balkan Supreme.

    Photos from 2002 Chicago Show

Is that @Briarcutter in the foreground? I’m in the background with NASPC’s John Tolle and the late Bill Unger RIP looking at a pipe. I had just gotten fat but still had a full head of brown hair. Seems like yesterday. Seem like yesterday. I think that was our first year back at Pheasant Run. The...

    Dunhill "HT" Stamp

HT’s are common from that era. They were hand turned and finished in England. I have a really nice group of “matching” Bent Dublin HT/XL Collectors from that late 90’s time frame. All great pipes.

Congratulations to the 2025 Doctors and Masters of Pipes

I’m flattered and Humbled. My life has revolved around the hobby and The Chicagoland Intl Pipe and Tobacciana Show has been a highlight every year. So many great memories were made at the Chicago show. Days and nights of smoke filled fun and fellowship with guys who for many became close...
