    Mellowest Unflavored Burley Blends?

No, I don’t know anything about those blends. But I’m going to read the post you link with more care and investigate. I chose that handle when I signed up here years ago because I had a minor obsession with green-cured nicotania rustica. I was growing it and trying to imitate both native North...

    Mellowest Unflavored Burley Blends?

Some reviewers claim to notice those flavors in c&d white burley, which, according to that company, is an uncased untopped straight white burley —which is to say the lower to mid leaves from a burley tobacco plant. I admit I strained to detect those flavors in c&d white burley. For me it’s a bit...

    Mellowest Unflavored Burley Blends?

I like plain white burley. It has interesting pine/evergreen notes—but toasting, casings, and toppings wipe those out for me

    Mellowest Unflavored Burley Blends?

Carter hall, like most otc blends, bothers my throat and mouth quite a lot, while strong burleys like c&d dark and whole leaf Kentucky never give me a problem

    Mellowest Unflavored Burley Blends?

Considering the range of tobaccos you can smoke without issues, I agree with Sigmund.

    Mellowest Unflavored Burley Blends?

If you smoked 5 bros and it did not hurt your throat, then it is highly likely that what’s bothering you with those c&d blends is not the burley. All of the c&d blends you list have other components—perique, Virginia etc. it is probably these components or a combination of these with burley...

Broken Tenons. Repair or Replace Stem?

For those of you who tried gluing the broken tenon back together, did the fix hold up? Thinking of trying this on a pipe that isn’t worth sending off for repair

Anyone Have a Method for Maintaining MM Plastic Stems?

I must have delicate lips or something. When a plastic stem gets a little scuffed I feel it—sandpapery—and I don’t like it. I must also have sharp teeth. I don’t often bite the stems, and I don’t chew them. I let the stem hang between my teeth, and that, and the weight/length of the pipe, is...

Anyone Have a Method for Maintaining MM Plastic Stems?

I find the pipe also has to adapt to the new stem . It takes several days or more for a new stem to fit right—sometimes anyway

Anyone Have a Method for Maintaining MM Plastic Stems?

I know there are replacements for 2 bucks and change, which I buy from time to time, as well as acrylic options. But my mm plastic stems get rough quick, especially on the heavier or longer pipes. Do any of you have a method for keeping them smooth and neat until replacement time comes? I’ve...

Show off Your Corn Cobs Here!

I keep considering the Vermont freehand forever stems for my cobs—and keep reading mixed reviews of them here. Some, like you, love them. Others complain of gurgling, size, etc. guess I’ll have to try them myself. My plastic stems are getting pretty chewed up and several have cracked
