$400 to Spend on a Pipe

That looks awesome Zonomo! I've been looking at his tree bark series pipes. Love the way they look like freshly chopped logs. I've never seen sandblasted bamboo before but I love how it looks.

    PAD and More

Today I attended the Seattle Pipe Club Annual Dinner. Had a great time, ate great food with great people, had a chance to meet Russ Ouilette. The event included an auction, where last year I had missed out on a Rad Davis pipe at a bargain, so this year I was more prepared. I managed to score a...

    What to Buy?

Smoking pipes has a few Stanwell Featherweights up. I've been looking at those Tsuge pipes on sale at Smokingpipes. I don't actually own one so I'm not sure about the fit/finish of them but everytime I'm browsing SPC the price seems right.

Brian Says You Can Smoke Grain

I would think that a pipe made from briar that had straight grain would be of inherrent higher quality then one with mediocre grain but I could be mistaken.I suppose both blocks could be cut from the same burl. However I think that drilling and craftsmanship is far more important. A well drilled...

Health Issue: Smoking Pipes or Drinking Alcohol. What's worse?

If you listened to the NPR show Kevin was on he gave some interesting stats on pipe smoking. I believe it was from this same report: "Death rates for current pipe smokers were little if at all higher than for non-smokers, even with men smoking 10 or more pipefuls per day and with men who had...

    Strange Taste to Second Bowl

Second bowl is usually from a different pipe so it isnt any kind of ghosting. The strange taste happens with cigarettes after smoking a lat blend.

    Strange Taste to Second Bowl

Do any of you get a strange taste after smoking a Lat blend then a burley or virginia blend? I've noticed this on a few occasions. First time was after having some SPC Mississippi River then Some E. Hoffman Distinguished Gentleman. The taste is hard to describe and, to me, not very pleasant. The...
