***What Are You Smoking, May 2022?***

Heinrich's Curly Block in a Chacom 862 Spigot.

When did Wessex take over Curly Block?

Based on the responses here, and my own first smoke of it, I definitely have the Heinrich's version here. I don't detect a trace of anything besides VA and perique with this block. It's quite good I might add.

When did Wessex take over Curly Block?

The reason I ask is I have a jar in my basement with one of those big sausage 'blocks' cut in half, and labeled "curley block 2020" I believe it was Heinrich's but I don't remember for sure. I'm wondering if the date identifies it as Heinrich's or did Wessex take them over before 2021? Just...

Kelly's Coin in a MM Carolina Gent with the morning coffee.

Smoking Half a Bowl and Finishing it Later

I smoke most of my bowls in halves, and usually have two half-way smoked ones sitting ready. I wouldn't say the second half is far superior, but it does seem to benefit from the "rest". The very quick and easy relight is kinda nice too. I really don't do it specifically to have second half...

***What Are You Smoking, May 2022?***

Haunted Bookshop in a MM Country Gentleman. I have never tired of this blend. One of the best from Russ IMHO.

***What Are You Smoking, May 2022?***

Father Dempsey if perfect for yard cobs! :)

***What Are You Smoking, May 2022?***

D&R Picayune in a Carolina Gent cob. Last of it in a jar, but still have an unopened tub and a tin, so I'll be able to enjoy it for some more years.

G&H Sweet Rum Roll (twist) in my old Chacom Army.

Kramer's Father Dempsey in my Savinelli Riccio author, with a bit of Jack Daniels.

    Quality Bits for Corncob Pipes

If you like the MM Country Gentleman (or other cobs with the same sized bit), Boswell Pipes usually have a selection of cobs for which they made custom bits. When you wear out the cob, just get a regular Country Gent and switch the bit. I find them to be a very good quality comfortable bit...

***What are You Smoking, April 2022?***

C&D Burley Flake #2 in a MM Carolina Gent. Love how it's basically Burley Flake #1 sans perique. I like 'em both.

She knew you were trying to get a photo shot, and you hadn't negotiated royalties with her yet.

    Cigarillos?

If you like semois, smokingpipes sells semois cigars in various sizes, and as far as I can tell, it's the same stuff as Tabac Manil pipe tobacco. Even the wrapper I think. Not a cigar smoking experience though, it's pretty much smoking Tabac Manil semois in cigar form. Personally, I like...

***What are You Smoking, April 2022?***

Briar Fox again, it's becoming an all day smoke for me these days. I'm thinking the couple years age really is a plus for it, so I'll make sure I have more cellared that won't need opened for a couple years. Currently smoking it in a MM Dagner poker, with a bit of Five Brothers mixed in to...

***What are You Smoking, April 2022?***

Briar Fox in a MM Freehand. I forgot I had a pound of this in my cellar, so it's aged a couple years. Quite a pleasant, simple smoke.

C&D Burley Flake #1 in a MM Charlestown Cobbler.

    Best Light Weight Pipes?

I saw a few posts suggesting Savinelli Author and that is my suggestion as well. However, I would add that since you want light weight, go with the KS 321, which is a slightly "sized down" version of the KS 320 (both are authors). I primarily smoke cobs, and my 321 author fits in nicely with...

***What are You Smoking, April 2022?***

I have one of those from about the same time! Never thought I'd see someone else with one. It's the only churchwarden I have. I remember they posted some Civil War photos of soldiers smoking similar looking pipes. Using a miniball design was a nice touch.
