Meerschaum Pipe Issues- or Operator Error?

For what it’s worth, I’ve owned eight meers crafted by Mr. Baki and each one is a superior smoker. There might be exceptions, but Baki clearly cares about making a quality pipe.

    So - Why Meerschaum?

I smoke meers 99% of the time. I’d have to say it’s a preference that evolved over time. Just a preference. I like everything about them. I don’t dislike briars, but meers make me happy ?

    What are You Reading Now?

This is a cool thread. I’m reading guitar magazines (always) and a never-ending pipeline (thanks to the Massachusetts library system) of “popular” behavioral psych and neuroscience.

House of Calabash, Back in Business

I just read a post from Eva Books (daughter of the late Steve Books) on Facebook (under “House of Calabash”) that she will be producing and selling a selection of tobacco blends that her father had created. This is good news for me - I was very fond of Grandfathers Own and For Meerschaums Only...

Specialty, Short-Run Tobacco Blends - Worth It?

I was very fond of Steven Books House of Calabash blends. My favorite blend was more than $10/oz. There was, in my opinion, something special here. Could be the skill of the blender... could be the aged tobacco he used. I can’t quantify it, but I always paid more for Mr. Books creations.
