    Bubinga Wood (?)

The USDA does not regulate pipes or wood used in the making of a particular pipe.

I would bet their turnover is very slow for that blend. Hence, the added humectants. I do think it is dirty. I wonder if the MFGer would approve. I doubt it.

I would bet 10 to a penny that the owner of the shop added glycerine or some other humectant to give it a longer shelf "life".

    Bubinga Wood (?)

Tobacco? Seriously? For wood, yes, there is. For example, the USDA and the wood database rate it as one of the worse sensitizers you to use for making a pipe. Simply because you are constantly exposing the wood to fire. http://www.wood-database.com/wood-articles/wood-allergies-and-toxicity/...

What are you talking about? He said he would not smoke it. Not anything more. But thanks for policing our opinions.

    Bubinga Wood (?)

http://www.naspc.org/archives/otherwood.html Also, " Bubinga has been reported to cause skin irritation and/or skin lesions in some individuals. ". Not sure I would trust burning tobacco for consumption in Bubinga.

    A Shortcut to Mushrooms

Sadly, Haploporu odorus is also red-listed across the world except for Canada where it is protected as rare. But " Conservation Actions

    A Shortcut to Mushrooms

Not to reopen an old thread, but to reopen an old thread (and there sure as hell is little else to do being stuck at home because of C19), I have found that there are times when I want a milder, less in your face oriental. I mixed 1 part Tashkent with 1 part Oriental #40 with varying parts of...

    Any Wierd Names Of Foods

I agree...but I was not referring to the dolphin fish.

    Any Wierd Names Of Foods

Yes. Understood. I have had whale in Norway but do beg off responsibility because I had no idea what I was eating. But I was not talking about a dolphin, the mammal.

    Any Wierd Names Of Foods

Who is eating dolphins or whales? I agree with you, btw. But we were not discussing eating dolphin, the mammal. We were discussing eating dolphin, the fish...aka mahi mahi and dorado.

Boudin noir I am not familiar with but I played softball for the Boudin Kings and you can definitely get Boudin in restaurants.

Chitlins should be named shitlins because they smell exactly like what they produce in life. No thank. Never again.

    Any Wierd Names Of Foods

We called them Dorado or Dolphin all of my young life on the coast of Georgia. They were and are delicious and they are great to fight on light tackle. They are also very curious and as long as you keep one in the water, hooked...the rest will hang out and be caught in turn.

Mac Baren HH Pure Va Mold?

2 week old pizza is still prime breakfast fodder. You know, if you must, you can just scrape that green stuff off.

    So My Wife

Yep, we have the same insanity here as well. My wife is why I have any pipes at all but she is scared to try to buy me tobacco. I showed her the photo of the tobacco you posted and told her all of those on the left (Doblone d'oro) are just fine by me if she decides to go looking.

    Swisher Sweets

Grew up with Swisher Sweets. They work great to keep mosquitoes, gnats, deer flies, noseeums, etc off of your head when fishing. Plus I liked chewing on them and a big wad of Cannonball with a Swisher Sweet was a great combo for nicotine.

    “Perfect” Tobacco and Drink Pairings?

Sweet iced tea seems to complement all of my smokes. Coffee can be good but I prefer a cool drink over hot drinks. I rarely mix whisky and my pipe now. It takes away from the nuances of the blend, imho.
