Be Wary Of 1 Pound Gawith Bags

.... the way some hyperbole is used over particular blends, I've often thought there was some fapping going on.

Be Wary Of 1 Pound Gawith Bags

Sorry to see that.... Such a shame. Did get me thinking though.... Isn't this essentially similar to the processes that turn leaf into Perique?

Quit, Quitting, Have Quit, Maybe. . .

Sorry to hear this, SaltedP. I've always enjoyed your posts, and look forward to your contributions when you are so inclined. I hope your health and situation improve, friend.

Leaving Some Tobacco for the Pipe Gods

Great story! I let the tobacco and pipe tell me when to stop - they, and my palette, let me know when enough is enough. Some combinations are great right down to the very end... Other times I'll let it go at the half way mark. Cigars are the same. I've smoked some down to where I need a...

    McClelland Memmories

Join Pipestuds mailing list. Once a week a small quantity becomes available for purchase. Due to time zones I have never managed to get any (all sold before I wake up in the morning)... But there is often a great range, at fair pricing.

    Horse Dong Tobacco

How did you jar yours, Harris and npod? As whole logs, or cut chunks? What size jars? I am erring on the side or leave in bag, and put in large jar as woods suggested. Tobacco collaring is fun isn't it!

    Horse Dong Tobacco

Thinking about it a bit further, I recall Mike McNeil strongly recommending not aging tobacco in plastic... I interpreted through his comments that it was because of the 'out gassing' chemicals of the plastic tainting the tobacco. In any case, at this stage I'll leave mine in their plastic, and...

    Horse Dong Tobacco

Question for those who bought this one for their cellar - are you leaving it in the sealed bag it came in, or opening and jarring portions? If you're leaving in bags, are there any thoughts how long this is good for?

    20 Lbs, That's the Limit

Apologies for the old thread revival... I was looking through past threads and found this great thread. It was fun to read the responses.....and it was very interesting to see how few people would have put away any McClellands blends! This would have made a great social experiment in how the...

    Late Night Smoke

I can't remember where I I saw this written... but I always remembered as it resonated with me. Nightcap and Early Morning Pipe should have had their names substituted, as I smoke them the other way around!

    Castello

I got mine from the Danish Pipe Shop. Great range, and easy to to shop with.

I Love the Shape of This Pipe, But......

I often use a BBQ butane lighter -, the ones with the 4 inch flexible end. Very easy to direct the flame over the centre of the bowl. A pack of 4 is available at Costco for next to nothing.

    Having Some Trouble

I struggled for the longest while when I started out - until I changed and used another pipe. Even though my first pipe was a nice Savinelli - it just wouldn't play nice. I changed it up, used the same prep and pack techniques, and smoked a whole bowl with 1, maybe 2, relights. Even now with...

A Quick Cigar Smoker Census, Among Pipers

I have smoked cigars for 20 years, and was a passionate devotee / collector. I currently have enough cigars to last a couple of lifetimes. I loved the history, the flavours, the culture and the camaraderie -... and I feel guilty that pipes have captured so much of my attention and desire. I get...
