How Do You Guys Become Knowledgeable About the Hobby and Community?

One place where I personally learned a lot was glpease.com. Greg is not as active as he once was, but the Briar and Leaf Chronicles and Ask GL Pease sections have a wealth of info. This forum is a great place to learn about our hobby.

    The Witcher - On Netflix

I agree. It was okay, I think I got three episodes in. The story line was hard to follow and each episode doesn’t have much to do with the previous. This could have been epic, but it feels like there is too much backstory to really get it for the casual viewer.

    Disgruntled, Frustrated, and Miffed.

Sorry to hear that. P&C hasn’t shipped to Washington in over 5 years. They did everything they could, but were not able to legally ship there. They didn’t take it lightly since it was a big loss in revenue. Can’t blame them for a state law.

    I Am a Lakeland Addict

I am pretty sure it’s only available at the Danish Pipe Shop and I don’t think they ship tobacco to the US. Outstanding flake.

    Stanwell 75th Anniversary Pipes

Just be aware that’s most likely a stock photo, so you may not end up with that exact pipe.

    Are These Tobaccos Ghost(er)s??

An old pipe smoker told me if I was worried about ghosting, smoke the tobacco in a pipe with a thick cake. Whatever ghosting happens, it absorbs into the cake and not the chamber walls. I have smoked many ghosting tobaccos ( 1792, Ennerdale, Grousemoore) and never had a problem. If I determine I...

Visiting Chicago the First Time - and Searching for a Good Pipeshop

I second Iwan Reis, it was the first time I had the chance to see Eltangs, Formers and other top carvers in real life. They also had a great tobacco selection. Another legendary place, but more geared towards cigars, is UpDowns.

    Pipedia and Piber & Tobak...

Congratulations ?. The Dunhill page has so much more informal than it did a few years ago. Great job and love your photos on Instagram.

    Wessex Pipes?

I think there were a few variations/manufacturers of Wessex pipes. If it has a Cumberland stem and brown blast ( and I think a blue/silver dot stem logo) they were excellent pipes with hand cut stems and came in 5 or 6 Classic English shapes. I think they cost about $75-$85 at the time.

Modern Meerschaum Pipes by High End Makers That Mostly do Briar Pipes.

I can vouch for Meerschaum Depot personally. I have known Ramazan both personally and I was one of his first big customers, stand up, honest guy.

The Reliability of Mason Jars for Long Term Aging/Storage

The oldest I have is from 2008 (5100) and the jars are still sealed. I popped a jar a few months ago and the tobacco was outstanding.

Modern Meerschaum Pipes by High End Makers That Mostly do Briar Pipes.

What about Walt Cannoy? He did a series of Meerschaum pipes a few years ago. I just saw one on smokingpipes in their estate section.
