P&C has a half off sale for 48 hours. Thinking of pulling the trigger but unsure if it's a good deal or not. What do you guys think of these? I'm ok with 9mm filter pipes and the sandblast looks nice enough to me.

Seems like a great deal. Looks like 3 different variations are available right now and are unfiltered? The smooth billiard looks very, very nice. I have two Stanwells. A brushed black pot and a Trio (I think) black blast billiard. The former sans filter, the latter a 9mm that I use an adapter with. Both took a while to break in, but have become very reliable smokers for me.

P&C has business ties with Stanwell, I think, so you won't get a better deal anywhere. I have only Italian made Stans and I can recommend them. Most 9 mm filter pipes accept an adaptor (for no-filter smoking) and smoke just fine with nothing.

Not to go off topic, but what's the advantage of adapters? I have several pipes that take filters, but have always used them empty.

Here
My Stanwells have all performed well. One of them is one of my best pipes.

what's the advantage of adapters?

Adapters can help keep the mortise area cleaner, as the larger filter area is less exposed to moisture and grime. It can also help keep the cleaner on track, if navigating bends before entering a less than smooth mortise.

Some say it helps to limit the draw. I have trouble with that. If a stem airway of a certain diameter is paired with an adapter of the same diameter, the draw should not change appreciably. Likewise, a larger diameter mortise to accommodate a filter will still be limited to the draw capacity of the stem airway.

I use adaptors on some filter pipes and not on others. It can focus the air flow and hence the flavor, to a degree, if smoking unfiltered feels too open. Try it both ways. Some filter pipes smoke well with nothing.

My recommendation is based on four Stanwells from PC: A non-cylindrical pot designed for Stan by Sixten Iversson, a fine sturdy pocket pipe with thick stem and shank; a Canadian shape; and two 32 bulldogs, one in smooth and one in Silke Brune finish.
