    Pipe Whistle?

Another source of white Beeswax is a fabric store. Quilters use it to strengthen their threads.

This is an ongoing problem with a number of sites and is not likely to go away. Some sites require that the rules be read and signed off on, prior to membership being allowed. This could be a benefit.

    Most beautiful pipe?

It's not a stupid question Bubbadreier. Strive as I do for clarity in writing, I can still find it lacking.

    Most beautiful pipe?

Bubbadreier, what I was trying to say is that I've only seen 6 of these Pipes, so far...

    Most beautiful pipe?

This really is a killer thread guys... I can't really pick one Pipe out from my modest collection anymore than I could be happy with just one blend. Having said that, this is one of the first Pipes I acquired from Sadik Yanik... It has been carved about half a dozen times that I'm aware of...

September 2010 - What are you smoking?

The afternoon smoke is Anniversary in the 2 Snail Blowfish, a Hiroyuki Tokutomi shape I enjoyed enough to have it carved in Meerschaum..., down to the asymmetric bit. http://pipesmagazine.com/members/fred/album/picture/539

    Snobbery....

Yes, it's a nice place to visit. Don't worry about the Pipes. The way the PAD runs wild around here, you're bound to find more...

    Information Overload!

Yes, it is a bit daunting... To me, it's like going to the library. So many blends, so many ideas, so little time.... Yep, it's held my interest and taken the lunch money for years. At first, Pipe smoking is something that you do. After awhile, it becomes something that you are.

    Snobbery....

I agree that the topic is not only relevant but necessary. These things don't just pop up overnight. This kind of trash talk and self-serving attitude is an insidious process that takes time to develop. It is wise to be aware of it and to guard against it. What it does to a group is...

And now for something completely different... It's some well aged McClelland's Oriental No. 12 in the Radice Morta. Best to all. http://pipesmagazine.com/members/fred/album/picture/546

    Cavendished Oriental question

I've not encountered Cavendish Oriental blends, but that doesn't mean that they are not out there. Just now, I learned of one... Thanks.

September 2010 - What are you smoking?

Late afternoon finds me burning Provost in the Gokstad. This Fluted Horn shape is the only one I've seen Baki carve, as yet... The lines are reminiscent of those found in Viking Long Ships, know as Gokstad... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gokstad_ship...

    Snobbery....

I have also seen the results of both elitism and antielitism, neither of which is good. Being what we are, we all tend to promote what we like, being convinced that others should and will agree. Where the friction and conflict starts is with denigration of all else that is not one's...

September 2010 - What are you smoking?

It's a pleasant afternoon with Samovar in a Baki Bulldog. Best to all. http://pipesmagazine.com/members/fred/album/picture/560

    MATCHES!

I enjoy the wooden match for the low combustion temperature, that translates to better blend flavor. The Old Boy is convenient for me while driving around in the truck, where the wood would pile up in the ashtray. I have a Zippo but just don't use it much these days, but it's reliable and...

    McClelland's Anniversary 2010

McClelland has produced another issue of Anniversary! The '02 and '05 issues are well represented in the cellar and are certainly among the best blends that McClelland has produced..., ever. They have released the 2010 version and I've ordered some - not wanting to be ignorant of this...
