Need walk through on cleaning a overly used, never cleaned goard calabash.
From what I have people tell each other at my club, you put some alcohol on a very slightly abrasive cloth and scrub, the gourd is supposed to discolor like clays and meers do as well. Good luck- jchaplick

I couldnt tell you, I know I HATE pipes that gurgle, so thats the draft hole. everything else is just looks and feel I suppose. I think everything is just chance to be honest- jchaplick

I agree with everything you say dgerwin, sorry pentangle, but you always knock others pipes, sure yours are beautiful, they definitely are, but as far as we know, they could smoke terribly, and everyone knows UA's pipes smoke awesome. An 'ugly' pipe that smokes awesome, is worth far more to me...- jchaplick

Cork pipe knockers are the best!
I just got a nice peterson ash tray from a smoking contest victory. Has two spots for pipes, asecond spot for a tamper (I use this for burnt matches) and an ash reservoir with a glued in pipe knocker.
