So what does everyone think are the standard tobaccos that all others should be judged by. If I had to say it would be Escudo for Vapers Orlik for straight VA For me thats about all I can name due to lack of experience with other types, I imagine penzance is the one for english tobaccos, and...- jchaplick

I doubt it is fixable, I would say smoke it until it starts to leak or something, than maybe seal it with beeswax. The other thing you can do is use pipe mud or pipe cement. There is a very detailed thread on those two thing, either use the search bar or search pipe mud vs pipe cement in google -

@dhintonca, I just did the to the mortise, it didnt stick per se but it did feel tacky and was definitely stickier than say doing the same to glass or plastic if that helps- jchaplick

how can you tell? I have two pipes, the claw and calabash mentioned in the other thread about beeswax, that I know are block, but I also have a very large rusticated pot. I have no info on it, if you want some pics I can oblige. I really want to know how to tell if it is block or pressed- jchaplick
