    I doubt it is fixable, I would say smoke it until it starts to leak or something, than maybe seal it with beeswax. The other thing you can do is use pipe mud or pipe cement. There is a very detailed thread on those two thing, either use the search bar or search pipe mud vs pipe cement in google

    I have pure besswax, is that the right kind, I have heard of using white refined as well. I doubt it should make too muchb of a difference

    @dhintonca, I just did the to the mortise, it didnt stick per se but it did feel tacky and was definitely stickier than say doing the same to glass or plastic if that helps

    how can you tell? I have two pipes, the claw and calabash mentioned in the other thread about beeswax, that I know are block, but I also have a very large rusticated pot. I have no info on it, if you want some pics I can oblige. I really want to know how to tell if it is block or pressed
