I got my new Strambach meer and I finally got to smoke it. Mixed feelings so far. Everthing started good, I loaded it with some cube cut DF and the start of the smoke was cool, flavorful and very nice. At some point I got some gurgles, nothing that a pipe cleaner could not fix but at the end... -

Tapping on the Bowl Like Bilbo Baggins
I was re-watching yesterday The Hobbit while smoking my Jirsa filled with FVF when I notice that during one of the first smoking sequences B. Baggins taps on the top of his pipe with two fingers of the same hand he is using to hold the pipe while drawing. I tried myself, seems to help "relight"... -

Blowing in the Bowl
Lately I have found myself doing the following while smoking. I blow very softly into the bowl of my pipe until a little bit of smoke comes out of the bite, the catch this breathing it through the nose. I find the aroma quite different and very enjoyable. My Take On the Flake
I m smoking ABF while reading your post guys. DF,ABF and (I just tried it last week) FVF are my very favorite smokes so far. I agree that preparation of FVF seems a little bit more troublesome, but totally worth it. Going back to ABF today I decided to rub it out. It is smoking in this case...- dnietosi
