    Softy Bits

I use the exact same ones, from the same seller. They are okay, but tend to split after awhile....no biggie, just get more.

"Strike anywhere" matches disappearing in your area too?

I live in S.E. Florida, and all I can find are strike on box matches also.....no more strike anywhere matches. I thought that the store I was in just didn't have any at the time, but now that you are saying the same thing. I guess they have now been outlawed in Florida.

    Newbie needs help....

I pack relatively loosely....tamp only when absolutely necessary and then very lightly.....puff slow and steady.....and never use a lighter, only wooden matches.

PIPE BOWL IS GETTING HOT TOO MUCH....

I generally will smoke the pipe, and if it goes out I'll put it down before relighting. If it burns all the way to the end I'll smoke it that way. But generally slow, easy slight puffs should keep the bowl from getting too hot, if not then you may be drawing to hard/fast.

    newish pipesmoker questions

I smoke the same pipe all day long. Every once in awhile I'll switch to a different pipe just for giggles...but if I decide on one pipe, I pretty much stay with it. Ex: for the past 2 years I've been smoking nothing but my 47 Kaywoodie and that is all day, all night, however, I draw real light...

    Vauen pipes

I have not personally, however, I have heard that vauen makes very good quality pipes. I for one am in favor of supporting lesser known pipe makers...I have a Bob Davison pipe that has smoked great right from day one without any break in....I can only imagine what a few years will bring.

    What Did You do Today?

Made a few shots of Greek style coffee, took care of my elderly dog, since I live alone I must do the cleaning also.. in between that, I'm just enjoying some smoke. Talk about enjoying some smoke, I don't know why I got away from smoking this Bob Davison Pipe? It is a sweetheart.

    RM Davison pipes

    Pipe Shapes You Don't Get...

I can't even begin to imagine how that pipe was carved ... (the one that is posted by hauntedmyst), I'm wondering if those scrolls were glued on?...if not, that is one hell of a carver.

    Longchamp Leather Clad Pipe

I never used to like the leather pipes, always afraid of what was underneath the leather, but I've since changed my mind and now I want one.

    For the Coffee Heads

I liked it so much, that I had 4 'cups' last night, and just woke up and made another double shot this morning. I don't have an ibrik yet, so I used the bottom portion of my french press on top of a wire screen (I have an elec. stove), and it is working out very nicely. I did order an ibrik off...

    Tobacco pipe brand

I believe that it is a Captain Black made in England Pipe, as far as the year goes, I don't know....my guess would be about 30 years old or so.

New here and haven't seen much about medico

I love old Kaywoodie's, and they can be bought fairly cheap on the bay. However, they do require a light drag to keep the gurgle down, I smoke several bowls out of the same Kaywoodie pipe in the same day without cleaning, and never, ever get a gurgle, but a lot of people have to clean out a...

    For the Coffee Heads

I just made some Greek style coffee, which is the same as Turkish minus the cardamon. It didn't take me long to grind the coffee to a powder at all using my granite mortar and pestle. I started out with some Pilon espresso coffee which is very fine to begin with, and in less than a minute I had...
