    Fall Time

Any rich blend will do in the fall. It's already cooling off quickly in my neck of the woods and I'm smoking at least twice as much now. I write which pipe I've smoked into the date of my calendar for maintenance (marking a "C" beside it after it's been cleaned) and had a few blank squares last...

The Joke Thread: Not Safe For Work (NSFW)

    Man Bag Or No- Help!

For something no frills and that won't get you funny looks, how 'bout a backpack? By the time I was in high school, they were standard gear and some are really nice. Jansport

    Enjoy!!!!

Awesome find, Changeojoe. Has anyone else heard of the pipe papers on page 10? Wally Frank - Page 10 There's all sorts of wild stuff in there, from the testing kit to the rubber P-lip bits.

    Worst Pipe Ever

Juozapas wrote: Just remember that just like everything else with pipe smoking, none of it is written in stone. Some people have great luck with brands I'm convinced are garbage, and the same may hold true for you sometime, whether you're having the good luck or the bad.

    Worst Pipe Ever

Searock, I've got a Butz Choquin and it smoked extremely hot. It was a dress pipe and I eventually came to the conclusion that I'd either remove the finish or toss it. Removing the finish was a big improvement. It's the one pipe that I use for aros now. The B*C and a Chacom I own have pretty...

    Pulled the trigger again

Nice meer for sure. IMPs are always a good choice. I've got two and they're both fine smokers. I also like that IMP has the more traditional shapes and that bulldog you picked looks great.

Who had a real paper route when they were a kid?

Searock wrote: When I was in elementary school, me and a buddy of mine would ride our bikes up to Swifty and get a couple rubbers, unroll them, spit hockers in them, and throw them on cars or stick them on antennas. Me and that same friend would call people at random sometimes and tell them...

Putting my 2-3month pipe experience away.

    Hi Jason. Keep comin' back!

Do you use pipe screens. Why or why not?

Screens are needed for pipes like this with big draught holes: Except for what Phil suggested they're pretty much useless for briars.

My Ebay Aquisition for the Princely Sum of $6

I guess my curiosity about whether the white one smokes hot is satisfied. Like you say though, all is well when good techniques are applied.

Putting my 2-3month pipe experience away.

I've sat in enough of those rooms to know that many of them don't. Addictions are hyped in a major way, from things like pipe and cigar smoking, down to telling 18 year olds who got a DUI and are sentenced to meetings that they have a disease and are powerless for the rest of their lives over a...

    What are You Reading?

MrBrandybuck, That sounds like a good read. I'm a fan of both Sullum and Stossel. (I've read both of Stossel's books and they're pretty entertaining for having frustrating content.) If you've aren't familiar with it, you may want to check out Reason Magazine's website. Sullum and Stossel are...

I'm Officially A Member/Sorry You Can't Get Rid Of Me

Congrats, Wallbright. If I'm remembering correctly, last year you would've become a member after either 100 or 150 posts; it must be a length of time thing now. Now as far as becoming a "made man" like Igloo, Uncle Arthur, & myself, I don't know what's involved with that. I had the internet off...
