PAD from Christmas and New Year (PICS!)

That Ascorti is my favorite. It's got this whole entropy thing going on. I'm not a fan of straight stems, but man I'd be happy smoking that.

What Are You Smoking? *January 2013*

PS Luxury Navy Flake in a Mario Grandi apple.

My Chance to Smoke Some American Blends

I third the Haddo's Delight suggestion. It's been a nice diversion. That and a cup of coffee are a great way to start the day.

    Boswell Pipe

I have one of their "smaller" (which means normal pipe size) Christmas pipes from 2002. I got it for my Dad for Christmas back then. I've done some phone business with them before and they are super nice people.

    My Latest Moretti

I like that smooth bevel on the rim of the bowl. It subtly telling you to fill it with tobacco. Enjoy it!

    Curious....

Tarzen shoot me your address in a PM. I'll send you a few bowls. Yeah I'll be honest, I figured the extra piece of wood was marketing and a way to take up space. Either way I enjoy the stuff. Its a fun smoke.

    Hal o' the Wynd

You guys keep bumping Prairie Wind up on my next order. I haven't gotten to the Marlin Flake I ordered yet.

When Do You Have Your Most Relaxing Smoke?

It all sounds good guys. I like to sit outside in a rocker in the summer and watch the bats fly around. Sometimes my oldest comes and sits on the porch and we talk.

    How Did You Quit Cigarettes?

I went from chaw to dipping. Then dipping to smoking cowboy killers. Quit cold turkey about 14 years ago. From then on I've only had a cig once a year at a local buddies yearly cookout. Kind of a ritual. About 10 years ago I started smoking cigars infrequently then 7 months ago to pipes. I...

    Am I being a snob?

As long as your not rubbing anyone's face in it, your not being a snob. All good man. I'm partial to bulks, with good tins intermixed. Got bills baby, kids college funds, you guys know the deal.

    Savinelli -- always good?

Welcome to the forums. In that price range I'd recommend estates too. I know that can seem daunting since your just getting into the hobby. I would look at reputable estate dealers. MKELAW Pipes, a sponsor on the left, has some pipes in that price range. Google Pulver's Briar, James Island...

    Hal o' the Wynd

You always have great links Cortez. No love for the Rattrays in there? Rm's onto something about Haddo's Delight. It's "different" to me then a normal VaPer. It's got something special about it that sets itself apart. (Not ahead mind you, but apart). It's like a lady whose got that certain...

Gresham Giant Back From Walker Briar Works

Great looking pipe! Good for you Six. Did he install a sword blade to the end of the stem too? It's long enough. Sword Canes were so 2012. Sword Pipes are in for 2013.

    Tried My First Tinned Tobacco

I'm still learning as I go, but I find I'm better off smoking Virginia/Periques BEFORE anything with Latakia. If I smoke something a little Latakia-ish, then it seems to dull my taste buds for a bit. Sometimes coffee helps me pick apart a blend better too. It's like the contrast of the...

    Newbie Question

Welcome to the forums! EMP is a nice smoke for me especially once it's dried out a bit. Escudo. YES. Settle into it. It's tasty. When I die they can put little Escudo coins on my eyelids to pay the ferryman.

Pipe Feedback / Suggestions and New Member Introduction

Welcome aboard! FYI on most filter pipes, you can pull out the filter and it will smoke just fine. If you end up going the estate route, check out MKELAW pipes on the left. I know lots of folks have had good luck over there. Also I've dealt with Marty Pulver before, (Pulver's Briar?) and he...

    New Piper Nervous And Excited

Welcome aboard my friend! I love this hobby. Every bowl mixes enjoyment, learning, and relaxation together. The folks around here are always saying its a journy and I've found that to 100% true for me. About the tobacco going out troubles, try drying it a bit on a piece of paper. Give it...
