How To Tell If A Stem Is Hand Cut?

Thanks. How about if you can't handle the said pipe. Is there something specific to look for?

How To Tell If A Stem Is Hand Cut?

Is there a hard and fast rule to tell if a stem is hand cut? I notice many stems that I've been told are hand cut are much thinner and the buttons seems to "rounded" and smaller in some cases. Are there any tell tale signs that can help identify one? Specifically on some of the older English...

Chris, those two pipes need to be displayed together. Beauties. I'm happy for you my friend.

Got My First VaPer: Stokkebye Luxury Navy Flake

Chris I pulled a jar of 6 month old LBF and noticed that the Virginia's mellow a bit. It's still got that hay taste to me, but it's not as sharp and seems more "enveloped" into the overall taste now. Just that little bit of time really helped IMO. Sometimes fresh it all just seems sharp like...

    Happiness From Italy

The mere fact that I enjoy looking at uncarved pipes...little pieces of wood blocks...means I have a problem. I think.

    A New Rad Pipe

That blast is like sweet flowing lava. I really like how it contrasts the smooth textures. Beautiful pipe. I'm happy for you. And seriously I hope everyone does keep posting their beauties. I usually only visit this forum daily and I would miss some works of art if ya'll didn't.

    One Peice Of Advice

Welcome! Ditto what Roth mentioned. I would also suggest that you just spend as much time (if not more) on learning about tobaccos then pipes. I've only been smoking pipes a little more then a year but I'm still learning nuances of certain blends that I've smoked from early on. Every smoke is a...

    Hell On Wheels

My wife and I watch it on Netflix. It's not bad. There's two strong female (they tend to see more development in the first few episodes) leads in it and there's enough "cowboys" in it to please my missus I suspect. With 10 being high I give it a high 7.5. But honestly I really connect with...

I Don't Know Why I Keep Buying Pipes Like This.

Edit: See above, I edited my post. They were't working at first. It's there now. It reminds me of a little garter snake.

I Don't Know Why I Keep Buying Pipes Like This.

Stuff half a flake in that bad boy, close your eyes, and breath smoke. When I first started smoking I was all about big bowls. Now I have a few pipes that are perfect for those 15-20 minute waits, while the missus changes her clothes again before we go somewhere.

    A Few Beginner Questions.

Welcome aboard! I'd second the notion of a Missouri Meerschuam corn cob. You can pick one up for 5 bucks and spend more money on tobaccos until you dial in what you like.

    New Brittany Pup

There is nothing happier in the world then a puppy. We have so few pictures of our old man when he was a pup....the minute you used to get set to take his picture he was in your face trying to lick/eat the camera.

    Pipe Rotation With New Blends

Good luck on your hunt! One of my most favorite parts about pipe smoking is exploring the different tastes and experiences of different tobaccos.
