Jackknife versus Triple Play
I agree with Mr. English - TP is not just JK plus perique, but after smoking a tin of each, I reordered JK but not TP - so I guess they are similar enough in my mind that I didn't need them both around. IMO JK is stronger in nicotine, but not by a whole lot.- jbbaldwin

Excellent! We loved the British version and are eagerly awaiting the new one. I believe we have seen Bleak House ten times. (Both of these have Ian Richardson in spades. Sorry about the pun.) Also recommend Doc Martin for a well-acted, on-location-in-Cornwall celebration of awkwardness.- jbbaldwin

Pairing Beer With Tobacco
As others have said: IPAs do not work for me with the pipe. I love them both, but not together - the IPA actually causes me pain, no matter the tobacco (it seems worse with VAs, though). An uncarbonated English brew at cellar temperature is OK with any kind of tobacco for me, though.- jbbaldwin
