firstly i don't use sandpaper but abrasive burlap (hope this is the correct english word) from the grain 80 to 1500 then i use abrasive paste with a buffing wheel.Be gently and use small quantities of paste, wheel must be simply soiled.Before staining clean with alchol.Not always i use abrasive... -

I carved a blue pipe last week :wink: unfortunately i had not at the moment white luicite to make a contrasting stem.So went out with a more traditional black stem.Will post it maybe tomorrow My Lady :-) Maurizio -

Well i carved that pipe set from fallow deer horn with some briar insert.Horn is very hard to carve,very very hard,I got several cuts in a hand to do that work finished 8O ps:pipe in the stand is one i carved and just shared with you before Maurizio -

Silver band whould be a very hard way to take as shank needs to be round perfectely.And in this case i see isn't round.You still need a tool to get shank plane in transition with stem otherwise pipe will shows always unfinished.That's the step you need to play nowadays to get outstanding... -
What is your best smoking pipe?
Impossible to say.Must to have only one .I probably have near 300 pipes and no one is bad,so many are excellent.Could say Castello but which? Dunhill or Charatan but which? If you mean a pipe connected to memories, well in this case will say a canadian Larsen.When i want to smoke Old ironsides i...- pentangle
