Four Tones Art Deco' Pipe I Carved

Just finished today.The four tones aren't easy to do because they needs to don't be confused between they.Some rustication was added to get a shape i had in mind.Tone colour are: black,mahogany,orange,yellow

Well if the drillings are correctly done and briar seasoned properly all pipes smokes well,no reason for the contrary :wink:

Maurizio please tell me your method for getting the grain to be soo beautifully pronounced. how finely do you smooth the wood before applying the dye? how much more after?

firstly i don't use sandpaper but abrasive burlap (hope this is the correct english word) from the grain 80 to 1500 then i use abrasive paste with a buffing wheel.Be gently and use small quantities of paste, wheel must be simply soiled.Before staining clean with alchol.Not always i use abrasive paste,it depends on briar
