    Manufacturer's Seconds?

I have no experience save for the fact that I have owned 2 Parkers which are supposedly Dunhill seconds. Both smoked well one of them was amazing. Sadly it was lost when sat on by a very large friend of mine. Most seconds that I have seen usually just have cosmetic issues like fills or odd...

Snagged a New Mastro De Paja off Ebay

I dig it. I only have one Mastro De Paja but it never fails to deliver a near if not perfect smoke. Love their aesthetic and the texture of their rustication. Enjoy that pipe my friend and label me just a little bit jealous.

    Making Pea Soup

@cigarmaster: Dude that sounds so good. I always reach for some sort of salted, smoked or both pork product when I think of meat for pea or bean soup. Never thought of using rosted beef or beef soup bones.

    Depression Era Cooking

I grew up amongst an Italian immigrant family so the depression mentality was pumped into us from a young age. Peppers and eggs is an Italian American staple and it is a true art form. We grew up eating dishes that were made with a lot of passion and engineering to make the cheapest possible...

What Does Your Favorite Pipe Say About You?

I have no favourites. I smoke what suits my mood and tobacco choice really. They all have their qualities.

    Dunhill Blends Comparison

I do so miss my Durbar moments. Always smoked it in a small bowl because it gives me the nicups, but for that 20 or 30 min it seemed to always take me to for a ride. Great outside on a cold winter morning with a hot cup of coffee.

    FVF Question

Depends on what you mean by better. I do like what happens to virginias as they age. the rough edges seem to soften, the dark rich notes get deeper and the sweetness spreads out. I love FVF fresh out of the tin, but with 5 years on it you get those mind blowing smokes filled with roasted...

    Dunhill Blends Comparison

I know every one of those tobaccos quite well and I have to say that your tasting notes are spot on. Making me want to go on a Dunhill rampage ha ha ha.

    What Did You Start With?

My first pipe was a friends painted Canadian and some local tobacconist's goopy aromatic topped with straight perique. Moved on to just the aromatic and then almost walked away from the pipe. One day in a different Tobacconist, while discussing my intentions to walk away from the pipe because...

    NE Ohio Club?

I'm from Niles Ohio and moved to and lived most of my adult life in Cleveland, Ohio. Billinsfl has given you all the advice I could have given you. Ashtabula is closer to Niles than Cleveland, but your best bet is Cleveland.

    Ennerdale Flake

To tell you the truth, I kind of like the ghost being there in that pipe. It adds character. It only shows up in the last few puffs of the bowl so it's not like it ruins the smoke. I still chuckle every time it shows up at the end of the bowl and am reminded of my drive to Nova Scotia when I...

    Aromatics

I like the concept of aromatic tobacco but the end product is rarely enjoyable. I think the masses are attracted to aromatic tobacco so like all things that lots of people like, they shifted over to the mass production paradigm. Mass production usually leads to a reduction in quality so that...

    Ennerdale Flake

It will ghost!!! I have a Bjarne apple that I used to smoke about a dozen bowls of ennerdale in about 10 years ago. To this day I can still taste ennerdale at the end of every bowl in that pipe. I have reamed, salt and alcohol, cleaned...etc...and still the ghost persists. Powerful stuff. I...

    Pairing Tobacco and Drink

I suppose one could make or buy a bunch of cider and freeze it for later use?
