    Just one guy's opinion

Maybe I agree with Harris on this one . . . maybe. I was just thinking back ten years ago, I bought a half-way decent briar (4-dot Brigham Sportsman) that I subsequently tried and didn't get into. Yet, I kept the pipe and the filters, lugging them all over the world, but not smoking it...

Thanks! Had I known then what I know now, I would have bought a heck of a lot more of them!

    Nicotine Tolerance

I'm really surprised by, amazed at and thankful for the responses here since it puts a lot into perspective. Here I thought it was a novice or nicotine inexperience thing.

I Just May Have Found My Go To Baccy, Now I'm Happy

So, because a company is ostensibly covering their ass by providing health information via the US Surgeon General we should somehow boycott all of their products?! Sounds a bit extreme to me. That's like a brewery saying how alcohol can lead to brewer's droop (impotence), addiction and liver...

    Latakia

Of course only blending latakia is 100% latakia. What I mean is that the flavours are all rich latakia, unlike something like GL Pease's Odyssey, which has a strong flavour of VAs and latakia (and can also bite).

Bought a "Poisonous" Pipe This Weekend

When you have a bunch of other pipes to smoke and the pipe in question cost you $7, is it really worth ANY risk?

My only briar and my first pipe (bought about 10 years ago) is still a great smoker. Brigham four-dot Sportsman:

    Latakia

BLACKHOUSE!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry, I have never tried BlackHouse, but I just wanted to fit in with the cool kids. In truth, the best latakia blend I have had so far has been McClelland's 3 Oaks Syrian. Very smooth and all latakia!

    Behold The ROPP "BASSANG"

Your local antique and flea markets continue to impress me! That's an awesome find!

I Just May Have Found My Go To Baccy, Now I'm Happy

Michael, do you mix it one bowl at a time or do you mix together several ounces at a time?

    Peterson Irish Oak

It gives me a lump in my throat by the end of the bowl. I would also like to add that Irish Oak is the only tobacco I have put down before it has gone out, basically because I couldn't take any more!

Wow, that sounds pretty cool! That's the most frustrating thing about ebay.

    MM bag of smokable seconds

If I were you, I would first get rid of those wretched paper filters in each cob. Sweet that you got a Country Gentleman. My grab bag was similar with a LOT of Legend cobs, but to be honest, they're great for a quick smoke. Happy smoking!

    Peterson Irish Oak

Respect the Irish Oak! It will burn your face off if you're not careful! It actually has a pretty high amount of perique, in my humble opinion, and by the end of the bowl, I'm feeling like I've been eating spicy food. I love the rich flavours, like there seems to be a hint of cigar leaf or...

    Favorite Halloween movies

No way, man, Saw 528 was so much better than Saw 382!

Wife: It's Either Me or Your Pipe! (Cartoon)

I'm assuming that suitcase is full of pipes and tobacco!

    Favorite Halloween movies

For adult/scary films, my favourite has to be The Blair Witch Project, which fits perfectly with Halloween since it was filmed in October and is quite realistic.

    Where is the flavor?

Personally, I haven't found this technique actually enhances the "flavours" of a smoke. Try it, sure, but it's not something that I think is necessary to do with each puff or even each smoke. From on Canadian to another, welcome to the forum and the hobby!

    Nicotine Tolerance

All right, I'll not worry about it. Thanks for all the responses.

    Nicotine Tolerance

Nope. I'm guessing it's just a body chemistry thing, perhaps. From some of the above responses, it seems like it's quite common to have fluctuations in a tobacco's impact.
