What Dunhill Group Size Would This Fit Into?

As a start dunhill group division is not definite but I think we discussed that before in a thread called pipe size where I calculated group average. Therefore, I would say your pipe fite group 3 based on two facts the average bowl size of group 3 is 9.5cm3 and that is exactly your bowl size...

Do You Keep a Tasting Journal?

I only keep a spreadsheet of my pipes with basic info: name, date of purchase, dimensions, bowl size, weight, type of tobacco, etc... but nothing for tobacco. Although I tend to read reviews from tobaccoreviews.com before trying any new blend. Having different opinions helps in having good idea...

What's the Oldest Tin in Your Cellar?

Last month I opened my oldest tin a MB navy flake 100gm (they used to make it in this size) it goes back to 2003. Now I have captain black white box (contains 5-6 pouches) 2007not interested to open. Around 20 different Dunhill tins from the same year and 1 holiday season 2010 from Peterson. The...

    Value of Aged Tobacco 2025

That is exactly what I meant I am totally with keeping tobacco for own use but the point I raised was regarding price difference and trading issues. For me I always keep more than my usage tobacco with me since I travel a lot and finding a place to get tobacco is very hard if you're not familiar...

    Value of Aged Tobacco 2025

I am totally convinced that this will happen one day soon, but not sure if this comparison is realistic . Although prices will go higher, actual value of money is decreasing. In other words, a $2 tin 30 years ago is more expensive than a $10 tin nowadays. It is becoming a general rule all over...

Do Flakes Give As Many Bowls?

Not for long-time I guess both government and parliament are discussing adding taxes on tobacco.... but I think the main difference in price between here and US are cigarettes, specially local brand where pack never exceeds 70 cents in retail. However pipe tobacco is maximum 30% less than...

Do Flakes Give As Many Bowls?

That is extremely similar to my results.... usually 50gm tin of flakes give me 10 bowls of 90 minutes each... thanks cigrmaster at least someone else did this calculations... the only difference in my country is that tobacco price is a bit cheaper... 50gm MB flakes is around 6.5 USD and a pack...

    Dunhill "Royal Yacht"

It is really strong blend by all means, couldn't go throw the first bowl. Kept it stored for a year... things got better or at least good enough for me to finish the bowl hehehe... any way the tin is back in storage area for another period hoping it will be smokable after that...

Do Flakes Give As Many Bowls?

I do not think it is a matter of number of bowls since people tend to fill them differently and in all cases pipes got different bowl sizes. So I think the main thing to check here is time. According to my calculations previously 50gm of flakes lasts around 900 minutes (based on MB navy flake)...

    Taste?

Guess that will be my target, thanks for the hint. I will try cutting it but guess it wouldn't do much since the tobacco it self is finely cut, closer to cigarette tobacco than to a pipe...

    Mac Baren Navy Mixture

It is aromatic but in European style where the aroma is from tobacco without any additional flavors. If you are expecting any thing like most of the American aromatic tobacco then it is not your target. I would also recommend flake version it is much better and much richer.

    Taste?

I think it is definitely an idea worth trying special ly that I bought a pack of 5 tins back then (thought it was a good deal 5 tins for $23) and I am kind of stuck with one opened now and four sitting there. :-)

    New ST.Patricks Day Pipe 2012

That is a great deal hope you will enjoy it. I never knew they had pipe section in Dubai airport. That will be the first thing to check in my next trip there. By the way, I wanted to ask you if there is good tobacco shop in Saudi Arabia. I am planning a trip to there soon and wanted to know if...

    Taste?

Not sure if my opinion regarding royal yacht is valid or not but I couldn't finish my first bowl, so decided to store the tin for a year or so and tried it again. Although I made it through, nicotine level was way beyond my capabilities. So for me at least I think emp or 965 fits my taste and...

    Taste?

First, Peterson system pipe has excellent draw . I bought one lately and kept it in my daily rotation since day one. On the other hand regarding loseth comment I am really surprised that anyone would mistake the mild emp with royal yacht being the heaviest tobacco I have ever tried. In fact both...
