Best Conceal Carry Holster
You won't be able to carry something the size of the XD9 without a belt. At least not safely.A good belt keeping everything in place is necessary. Pipe Bowl Gets Hot
I have the same Mr Brog pipe. The pear wood does seem burn a bit warmer than my other, briar, pipes. It's never been hot, well not since I learned to smoke it properly, but a little warm seems standard. For me.- bigmick

Next Level Pipe
I have two pipes that I bought new and both are great. One is a Savinelli Oscar, which is a bit above your desired range, but the other is a Nording Gold Series. $60 at CupOJoes. Well worth the money.- bigmick

This was obviously coming when they passed the PACT act...forcing cigarette and smokeless shops to charge local sales tax and ship private carrier. $50 Pipe vs. $1000 Pipe
To me pipes are like cars. A used Honda can take you the same places a new Corvette will. A $75 pipe can smoke as well as a $5,000 pipe will. You just pay more for more refined engineering and appearance. A '88 Ford will mostly get you to work, but it takes knowledge and luck to get a good one...- bigmick

Tobacco B&M prices
We have an abundance of decent B&M's here. Some are better than others in the price department.I don't mind a bit of mark-up, I'm offended when the mark-up is in the 100% range, more so when it's blamed on taxes. Peterson & MacBaren Recommendations
MacBaren Symphony and Scottish Mixture Flake are two I keep in stock. All of the HH series are good. I've tried only Irish Flake from Peterson is was pretty good. I need to revisit it now that I understand flakes a bit more.- bigmick

I found a couple Ardors at the Tinderbox that got my attention. Not in the budget right now, but one day things will improve, or I'll get lucky on ebay. This has been a good month. I went from no good pipes to 6. I'll try to get my kid to use her fancy camera and take a group shot or two once... -

Update; The guys at Smokers Haven, okay Bill, found my pipe. It was hiding right in front of us in the big case. Somehow 5 of us missed it. Can't afford to pick it up for a couple weeks, but it's now in a safe place. I'm so giddy I could pop. -

Navy Flake!
All the Virginia and Virginia dominant blends I smoke are flakes. The only non flakes I have in the house are Latakia blends. Well I do have a couple ounces of PS Golden Dansk around here somewhere, but that's the exception and my only "aro". Not a fan of rum in my tobacco so a lot of Navy...- bigmick
