    In Support of B&M's

This is a tough one. I do really appreciate a good brick & mortar retailer. And I'm happy and willing to pay for the privilege of using their premises; within reason. But they've got to offer value, too. Unfortunately, stores specializing in strictly tobacco products are going to struggle to...

PSA: Be Careful Cleaning Your Cobs

Haha! Yeah, those cobs aren't as durable as a briar pipe, that's for sure. But the good thing is that it's easily and inexpensively replaced. Get you another as a new year's gift to yourself. Happy puffing.

Making a case for a vintage meer

I have a vintage Meer that has the classic fitted case that is, unfortunately, broken. I have tried repairing it but have been unsuccessful. I'm looking for ideas about how to create a new case in the spirit of an old, traditional one. Anyone done this before? How?

    Brebbia Gala Argento

I think these military-mount pipes (sometimes called army-mount or spigot) are really cool. This example is Italian made with sterling hardware. You’ve been told that taking apart pipes while still warm from smoking risks breaking the pipe. These are made to be disassembled at any time, making...

    Show Off Your Danes

Here is a Kriswill Bernadotte that I have had for years. I love the slim, pencil-like stumble and stem. The tall bowl (referred to as a stack pipe) makes it perfect for flakes and this is my go to for all flake tobaccos, particularly Virginias.

    Brebbia Gala Argento

Here is a little Brebbia Gala Argento military mount pipe, sometime referred to as Army Mount. This little guy is a nice 45 minute smoker that I picked up somewhere along the way. A lovely little guy. Anyone else have a Brebbia to share?

Show Off Your Meerschaum Pipes Here!

Here is a better pic of the Meer apple. This is my travel pipe. It smokes beautifully but doesn't want to develop much color. That's a little peccary leather tobacco pouch picked up from some antique store along the way.

Show Off Your Meerschaum Pipes Here!

This is a real beauty, too. Bought at the Richmond Pipe Show a couple of years ago. I love these old meers with such detailed carving.

Show Off Your Meerschaum Pipes Here!

This is an antique store find that I picked up a couple of years ago. I love this Zulu shape. It takes a pipe cleaner all the way through but the stem does not come off. And I'm not about to force it!!

    Meerschaum Coloring with Spots?

Meerschaum is a fickle mistress. Just keep on smoking it. Each is unique.

Amazing and very rare Sir Jacopo eBay listing.

It's a cool looking Meer. I am shocked that a SJ pipe can command $399. Much less over $700. I've had custom made meerschaums to my specification by renowned carvers for about $300 or a little more.
