I was given an early xmas present today of an old kaywoodie churchwarden! The vulcanite stem needs a little cleaning, the metal a polish, the stummel a wax and the bowl a ream, but it's beautiful! A London made kaywoodie apparently, will post photos later this evening

Some more photos. Have given the stummel a light polish with some renaissance wax and toothpasted the stem. Struggling to get good photos of all the markings on it with this phone, but they are: "Kaywoodie Churchwarden" on one side, and "Made in London England", "ESP", and "2899" on the other. Can't find much about England-made kaywoodies online and it seems like dating them is a rather imprecise art, if anyone can shed any light on it I'd be grateful! Has a few fills so I can't imagine it's from one of their fancier linesIMG_20241221_142933~2.jpgIMG_20241221_142941.jpgIMG_20241221_143059~2.jpgIMG_20241221_142941~2.jpg

I believe English made kaywoodie were made primarily by comoy. Also civic made "the drinkless" stamped pipes that had kaywoodie stingers in push style bits w kaywoodie shape standards.

I have never seen a Kaywoodie Churchwarden that was made in England, nice find!
I owned this one, a 1950's, four-hole stinger Supergrain. It was lovely, but with the stinger intact, difficult for me to smoke. I couldn't bring myself to cut the stinger and always wondered what it would have smoked like without it.

Very cool, you have the box. Don't see many of those. I love kaywoodie but they would have really been better off sticking to regular push bits you could easily remove the.stinger from

I have several English Kaywoodies, but all were most likely made by Civic. Yours is clearly made by Comoy. It is the first I have seen with that country of manufacture stamping. What an excellent Christmas gift!
