atwageman, no I don't it was one of my first restores and it sux cuz it was one of 2 that have no pics and it came out so nice....only 2 fills?..A tomato straight large bowl...it had a beautiful straight grain with a light walnut stain
Personally I like 3/4 bent but I do have a Kaywoodie Straight billiard that I love.Although for me it has to bent at least a 1/4 for the aesthetics....damn you sherlock..lol
so far I've used a brilo pad then a 0000# steel wool both with isopropyl then my dremel with a Buffer/slight abrasive pad and have had no complaints besides not using micro-mesh to get the glass like shine before using carnuba wax
Just curious...If u don't mind my asking...how much did u get them for?I had an Edward's and gave it to my bro in-law because it smoked good and he was just starting...just wanted to know if I gave away a great gem is all.
me too I can't find them anywhere...I've looked on E-bay,craigslist,thrift stores and antique shops but can't find them anywhere, that's why I gave him the Yello-Bole....I have a pic of both of us with our pipes,if I can find it I'll post it
Well that makes me feel so much better, my boy is 3 as well and he has a Yello-Bole brylon and he is my eyes at the antique shops. It's amazing how he can spot a pipe/rack across the room there
Don't feel bad I kept forgetting to do that the first lil while I was on here too...There's just something about all the pipe talk on here that you have to smoke a bowl and forget everything else..lol
Congrats irish My boy is almost four and second boy cookin..There really is nothin like it even when he pisses me off he's still my lil' buddy...
@Schmitz My second is also due in July..the 8th actually...Congrats to you also
I personally am in both boats...Sort of....I have recently started to buy estate pipes that I like and restore them and if I don't fall in love with them in the first bowl I put them in the sell rack...Is this weird?
no problem I found that the standard sanding bit fits an average bowl perfectly with a lil wiggle room before you hit briar..for mine I use the 60 grit then 150 grit to smooth it out a bit.Just be careful not to angle it as u sand or you'll put grooves in the briar as I did the other day when my...
I haven't done the salt method but I have done Iso and cotton balls on 6 pipes and it works wonders. There have been a couple that the cake was so bad I had to take the dremel to it with a sanding bit to get it back to the briar but no ghosts still
