Nice work, Dom. I wanted to make my own but w/no tools and a case of lazy-ass, I've never gotton around to do it.

    New and looking for info!

Welcome, and I think there was a recent thread about a BOB heading to Orange from Canada. There were a few local shops suggested him to try. I looked in the 'B&m, Shops..etc.' section to no avail

    'Forever Stems' on MM cobs?

PATIOBUM, are these stems the same size as a standard cob stem? I have a few cobs, but I find that the stem/bit it too small/narrow for my big mouth. I do like to clench.

    Soon to be pipe smoker!

Failte, I to say go for the briar, and a Pete system is a great starter. Due to the 'chamber', you will not have to deal w/the gurgle that is bound to happen to the best of pipe smokers. I too have a Blk 303, a Rustic 304.

    Penzance/ ah not so much!

I'm in your camp Bow, I don't care for it myself. I do think that due to all the hype I was expecting something else. Somewhat like COOR's back in the 70's, when I finally did get my hand on some I thought.."not any better than Schmidts"!!

March 2011 - What are you smoking?

A couple c'gars on the golf course today, and after prior threads I had Charing Cross in a Wolfgang Blaze apple and now Margate in a Tinsky poker.

    Wolfgang

Blazejewski. Anyone else have any of his works. He no longer makes pipes, quit in '07 I believe. His pipes are excellant smokers. very light in hand or clenched and drilled to perfection. Perhaps he'll make a comback!

Proper Way to Rest a Pipe?

If I have a desire to smoke a couple bowls of the same baccy, the pipe might be LUCKY if it gets an hr. rest. Is that 'proper', who knows? I do have certain pipes for certain tobacco. I have a HADDOS DELIGHT pipe, thats all that gets smoked in it.

Heavy Latakia Flavour - Light(er) Nicotine Punch

Sparroa, I have an opened tin of Charing Cross and w/out a bit of discernment, it could pass for MARGATE. A bit heavier on the Lat weed, but overall good...perfect w/a good cup 'o jo!

Can't smoke until Friday, dang it!!!

Called LEGALIZED EXTORTION!! Damned insurance companies..SUCK!

Heavy Latakia Flavour - Light(er) Nicotine Punch

Sparroa, there are many 'Lat bombs' out there..I particularrly like GLP ASBURY, full flavor, and SAMARRA as well..not very strong but full of flavor. Now, as the title implies, I think Charles FAIRMON's LANCER'S SLICES is a rok your sox off latakia.

    Frog Morton...

All very nice, but me personally, I wouldn't 'really' call it/them English, & the original is considered a Balkan. I consider tham all an aro w/a bit of Lat weed. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

    Good to be back!!

UPDATE! Embarcadero still SUX! Shame is I opened a tin dtd Jun 09 and smoked a wee bit in a Pete Killarney 338 (small bowl)..didnt want to go too big just in case. So, I have a damned near entire tin of Embarcadero, shipped in a small jar to whomever will smoke it. Yers for the asking! EDIT...

    Tongue Bite v. Tongue Burn

Shill, I used to get the BITE from overly PG's baccy and ofcourse, smoking like a train..the moisture produced the steam which bit like hell during the smoke. The burn effect, for me is after the fact..the next morning awakening w/my tounge on fire, sore, raw...the feeling as if it were burned...

How many blends are in your rotation?

I would have to say FOUR! Burley, Virginia, Haddos Delight and Latakia. Now, I have a pipe dedcated for the first 3 listed and the majority are for Lat blends. With the latakia, it really depends which pipe I feel like smoking. As far as how many open/jarred tobaccos I have, there are plenty...
