    Tobacco Log Book

I keep a numbers spreadsheet of my cellar, and will often include the date last smoked in it as well as some vague impressions of the blend when I’m trying it.

    A Shortcut to Mushrooms

I had purchased some several years ago when it was readily available. I remember I purchased more and finished that too. I quite enjoyed it. I seem to recall it occupied a sort of sweet English or crossover English kind of space.

Took A Break From Grad School Yesterday

Best of luck to you! I haven’t quite decided that a doctoral program is in the cards for me, history isn’t an easy gig to get into either from what I understand.

Took A Break From Grad School Yesterday

I can see why people become life long students. My undergrad was in history with a minor in secondary Ed. My masters is in education as well. A pipe dream I’ve often nurtured is a doctoral program in history.

Took A Break From Grad School Yesterday

Thankfully, my full time job has slowed down for the summer. I teach high school social studies at a local cyber school. I’m teaching two summer courses, but the work load is far decreased from during the normal school year. I’ve been using the summers to do grad classes for that reason, I’m...

    Boswell Tobaccos

The two Boswell blends I have tried and really enjoy are Northwoods and Boswell’s Premium Burley. I seem to remember ordering a cherry blend from them in the past as well as I think Pa Dutch Treat maybe. I don’t remember much of those and don’t smoke aromatics as much anymore now.

Took A Break From Grad School Yesterday

Took a break from my grad classes yesterday to enjoy the second bowl through my new Savinelli Mega Rusticated 315. I enjoyed some haunted bookshop with an Old Fashioned. So far the pipe smokes wonderfully, both bowls I’ve enjoyed in it have smoked down to snowy white ash!

    FVF Not Working For Me

FVF was the first Virginia that really struck a note with me. I had met up accidentally with an old professor from undergrad at the B&M my friends and I frequented in college, and he offered me a bowl of what he was enjoying. It was a jar of FVF from 2016, and I deeply enjoyed it. I bought an...

    New Castello Shape.

Hmm, I quite like that! Though I have quite a few smaller pipes now already. ?‍♂️

    Pipe Valet

I’ve seen those tray’s shown on Instagram and maybe Reddit. I think they look very nice, but probably wouldn’t splurge. I too normally use a paper plate or paper towel. I’d enjoy a small leather mat or small wooden block, even if I only really used them for vanity pictures carefully curated for...

What Happened to the 'Caption This' Monthly Contests?

I was wondering this as well! I miss those.

    Percolator Coffee

I use an aero press for my everyday at home coffee, but do sure love a percolator when camping. I was just pricing them the other day so I didn’t have to borrow dads. They want quite a bit for such a simple implement these days.

During These Times Of Unrest, Do You ?

My bowl sizes haven’t changed much (mostly because I smoke about 6-7 pipes) but with my school having us teach from home from March until the end of the year, and now teaching some summer classes and participating in my grads school classes I have noticed the frequency has gone up to several...

    Anyone Else Disappointed?

In a similar vein, I was surprised that large BM and Online Cigar retailer wasn’t running a sale. I popped on the other day to get my father something for Father’s Day as he is a cigar guy. I thought they might have a cool promotion or something going. I ended up just getting him a gift card.

What Am I Not Getting About Virginias?

I don’t think I’m quite there either with regards to identifying every nuance in Virginia blends, but the closest I came was with a bowl of SG Full Virginia Flake from 2016, that a kind gentleman was nice enough to offer me. It was really delightful. That sold me on the concept that even if I...

    Best Budget English

I remember when I was in college or fresh out ~2012 Sutliff was doing free samples, and sent me an entire tin of an English blend to try. I don’t remember much about the blend itself, but I remember thinking that was super cool

    Best $25 Smokingpipes Order?

I think I would pick one bulk blend I like, and get 25 bucks worth.

    PAD Calm Before The Storm

I find that I tend to go in an odd cycle. I won’t buy any pipes for a year or maybe more, but then I’ll purchase one, and several more will inevitably follow.. I purchased a Bones, and a Peterson last year, and this year its been a Briarworks Moonshine, and just now a Savinelli due to the SP...
