    Introvert/Extrovert

I teach Psych AP and this is a topic that students always struggle with. I like the above graphic for a quick look. Introvert doesn’t mean shy necessarily. I think it is likely and even common to exhibit traits on both sides. I’m more of an introvert. As a teacher I need to engage groups...

    Corncob Conundrum

Noted! Like I said I’m really enjoying his Chatham Manor, and I have been on a burley kick. Will have to look for some of this. Will be perfect for fly fishing trips!

    Corncob Conundrum

Is that from the same series as the Chatham Manor? I have been enjoying the 4oz of Chatham Manor I picked up quite a bit while breaking in my new Peterson Irish Army 101.

If You Haven't Tried Chatham Manor, Are You Even A Piper?

I feel like they’re similar, but different. I’m not big carter hall smoker though so don’t take my word for it.

If You Haven't Tried Chatham Manor, Are You Even A Piper?

Both are recent purchases for me, within the last two weeks. So far I’ve had one bowl of carter hall and two of Chatham manor. I think I enjoy the Chatham manor more At the moment. It won’t be one I reach for all the time I don’t think, but I’m planning to keep some on hand, it seems like a good...

    Managing A “Cellar”

I know you said you don’t want to run a spreadsheet, but if you have iPhone Numbers is seriously easy. That is what I have on mine, and I even have it set to conditionally highlight what blends I have open, cellared, or both.

***What Are You Smoking, Sept. 2020?

My most recent smoke was Sutliff Chatham Manor in my new Irish Army 101. Second smoke through this pipe and I quite like it so far.

Zippo Pipe Lighter for the Winter

I really enjoy my zippo, but turn to my Kiribi more often than not, I like the tasteless butane, and the fact it doesn’t evaporate. I also really like the angled flame. Zippo has finally got around to making butane inserts for their classic lighter case, but still doesn’t have a soft flame...

    Peterson Irish Flake First Bowl

...Sigh, another one for the list I suppose.

    English Never Grows Old

English mixtures hold a special place for me, and I hope I will always continue to enjoy them. I do not reach for them all the time, but do look forward to sampling more variety in time as I work through the handful of tins I have opening in jars. I remember enjoying a tin of Ashton’s Artisan...

Perique Lovers: What Are Your Favorite Blends?

I do enjoy some Perique. The two blends I enjoy most currently are Haunted Book shop and Nightcap, that is just because I’m most familiar with them likely. I’ve been working on the same jarred tin of nightcap off and on since 2015. Every time I reach for it I think it Is the last bowl, but there...

    PAD and TAD Annual Record

It has been a big year for me. I’ve added roughly 3-4 pipes, and probably 1.5-2 lbs of tobacco to my cellar! At the rate I smoke I have plenty to last me a good long while, but I’ll continue to sample and add things as they catch my eye.

Show Me Your Favorite Tobacco Knife!

I have a mini grip I like as well, but that bugout is so thin and light. I just can’t stop carrying it. I put a titanium backspacer in it for just a touch more rigidity. I can’t think of a more purpose built edc for me.

    Modern "Codger Style" Blends?

Of what I’ve seen mentioned here I’ve tried Pegasus, and haunted bookshop. I greatly enjoy haunted bookshop. I just ordered some Chatham Manor and hope to really enjoy it. Other than that I have not tried much of the codger blends.

    New Petersons

Very nice! I just pulled the trigger on an Irish Made Army 101 today. It will be my first straight Peterson and I’m quite looking forward to it. I love the aesthetic of army mounts.

Show Me Your Favorite Tobacco Knife!

More often than not I just use my edc knife. Benchmade bugout.

    Your Favorite Navy Flake

I also think I need to branch out a bit regarding navy flakes. I believe I had some when I first started smoking in college. I also have some Mac Baron bulk Navy flake right now, it is alright but didn’t wow me.

Enjoy Tobacco and Nicotine in Other Forms?

Generally speaking I only partake of pipes and cigars, but I also have some nasal snuff around. I previously have smoked cigarette, hookah, and vaped, as well as dipped a tiny bit and used snus. I enjoy tobacco and nicotine, but never have felt that I particularly need it. As a result I try to...

    What are You Reading Now?

Before the end of summer I finished up the first Gunslinger novel by Steven King. Recently started Shogun by James Clavell; not sure about that one yet.
