***What are You Smoking, April 2022?***

Quick 2021 Eight State Burley in a tidy Scott Klein. For a change I’m sitting out in our front yard. You can’t quite see it but disappearing between me and the street is a catch basin that captures all the runoff from our property. Just had a peregrine falcon come through so the birds have...

***What are You Smoking, April 2022?***

Worked from before 8 until just now (a tad after 5). Need a little time to slow down. Doing so with my BriarWorks and Visions of Celephais. Picked it because I could really smell if when I opened up my tobacco nook. Wind has blown all but a few crows away. Happy Friday, I announce optimistically.

***What are You Smoking, April 2022?***

Not been a very pipey month. Closing out a long work day with C&D Super Balkan in a Pete Aran. Hope everyone has been well.

***What are You Smoking, April 2022?***

Beach gotten to, surf surfed, chores chored, so now a quick and relaxing bowl of EMP in my small (but decent-sized bowl) Scott Klein canted Dublin. With a mug of Irish breakfast tea on the side to pick me up for the evening.

You of course post plenty of pipes. This one is a real eye catcher.

***What are You Smoking, April 2022?***

First pipe of the month. Was on a short vacation with no smoking allowed. Then got back and haven’t had a good moment. It’s super hot in SoCal. 2020 Cringle Flake in this Pete. Hope everyone’s doing well.

***What are You Smoking, March 2022?***

Some Wessex Campaign Dark Flake, a generous gift from @Tar Wheel — as a happy nod in this direction — in this Viking rusticated Dublin. Survived my virtual company retreat. My Alma mater is outta the hoops tournament on both fronts. Listening to an early blues program on the San Diego jazz...

***What are You Smoking, March 2022?***

Congratulations. As I’m 1/4 way through a company retreat (virtually because I couldn’t make it) I envy you!!

***What are You Smoking, March 2022?***

Going to fill the Pete House Pipe with Haunted Bookshop -- I'm on a firmwide call, that is lasting hours (I wasn't able to make it in person for a host of reasons). I need something to keep me from getting distracted! Hope everyone has good weekends.

***What are You Smoking, March 2022?***

Having some Visions of Celephais in this simple but lovely smoking BriarWorks. I probably won’t be another ton of this — a little too grapey although it tends to grow on me through the bowl. I don’t not enjoy it. I think I just enjoy others more. Had considered opening an Old Dublin or...

***What are You Smoking, March 2022?***

Kramer's Blend for Cary Grant in my small Scott's Dublin, with a bit of Elijah Craig Small Batch bourbon, as the sun sets. (I'm trying for an inoffensive blend since I'm heading outside with my wife, but one that will go with the bourbon.) Hope everyone has a good evening.

What are You Drinking? March 2022

At least you had the wherewithal to take pictures, if not post, @Tar Wheel . Let's see: Friday -- Beefeater martinis; Sat, Elijah Craig Small Batch (new to use, I found it spicy, my wife found it sweet, and when we added ice to our second drink, I found it sweeter and she found it spicier); Sun...

***What are You Smoking, March 2022?***

So today is the year anniversary of my mother’s burial and we went to the cemetery for a short time. Her parents are also buried there and I always leave a bit of pipe tobacco for my grandfather, who passed almost 20 years before I was born but was rarely know to be without a pipe in his mouth...

***What are You Smoking, March 2022?***

Felt so dumb about my earlier pipe / tobacco choice that I'm having a very very rare second pipe (I got an easy work project to review that is perfect for it): Pete EMP in a Pete Aran. For those who keep track of drink choices, my earlier pipe was with a cup of Blue Bottle coffee -- an African...

***What are You Smoking, March 2022?***

Tobacco Trader (LA) Bright Virginia in my Viking rusticated Dublin (I think, and let's go with it today, right?). Haven't smoked this in a while since I've been smoking other Va-based blends. Proving to be nice! Not sure why I didn't grab a Pete pipe today.

    Seeking Exceptional Bourbons

I know a lot of folks out here in CA who drink Woodford, and they all get it at Costco. I think it was a good deal for them. But I appreciate your point, Dave!

***What are You Smoking, March 2022?***

Last bits of a tin of Kramer's Fr. Dempsey; I thought I'd finished it but there were a few flakes left. In this here Scott's sandblast with the neat cant to the bowl.

Cornell & Diehl - Visions of Celephaïs (The Old Ones) review

As I just posted in the WAYS thread, I popped my tin of this in part -- large part -- to the review here. I may be finding it more Coleridge's Kubla Khan than anything by Blake, but most importantly I was warned of the grape. That would have thrown me, as I bought it a bit on a whim. Part way...

***What are You Smoking, March 2022?***

After not having it last night, I popped my tin of Visions of Celephais (in front of me so I can spell it this time). And, yes: Wow, grape. We'll see how this goes. In my Briarworks author, which may be fully and permanently dedicated to aromatics after this. Oh, and a late/after the fact bird...

    Seeking Exceptional Bourbons

I believe you mean official bourbon of Costco!
