***What Are You Smoking, January 2022?***

Following a few hours of gardening I’m now enjoying a pipe of EMP in my Aran 408. Surveying our work. I had planned to smoke my House pipe but it was c-l-o-g-g-e-d. A little 100 proof vodka and salt seems to quickly have done the trick. Will finish cleaning it later on. I’m also waiting to see...

2020 Cringle Flake in a paneled Meer. I'm sure I've had this pipe since the mid-90s (no later than '96), bought outside of St. Louis. With the stem, it is fair to call this my most elegant pipe. With a cup of coffee and the usual work.

***What Are You Drinking?*** January 2022

The weekend consisted of cheap gin martinis on Friday (didn't have time to get more Beefeater), Woodford Manhattans on Saturday and a pre-dinner Rowan's Creek + a nice Cab to go with what turned out to be an excellent steak dinner.

***What Are You Smoking, January 2022?***

I don't have my phone to take a picture but the sky in West LA is pretty much the same clear blue. The palm trees also look about the same! Enjoy your day and your smokes.

***What Are You Smoking, January 2022?***

Kramer's Blend for Fr. Dempsey in a smooth Pete Aran 408, to kick off the work week -- one main writing project to accomplish today, and this will help get the creative juices flowing. California is set up for a pretty epic football showdown (following on our baseball one in the fall). I think...

***What Are You Smoking, January 2022?***

@Servant King 's will almost always (if not always) out do mine. But we have done a fine job providing refuge for urban wildlife here, if I do say so myself. Our front and back yards/gardens are now almost entirely native CA plants, from ceanothus to rye to several buckwheats to toyons -- LA's...

***What Are You Smoking, January 2022?***

Wessex Campaign Dark Flake (thanks @Tar Wheel !) in my rusticated Viking Dublin. Didn't bring my phone so no pic; working on a couple of final projects (I hope) for the week. It is a beautiful but cool and clear day in LA. Looks like some Morning Doves, I think a Western Goldfinch or two, and...

What do you think of it? Like many others, I'm familiar with the Squire via the podcast. But nothing more than that. Hope you enjoyed it!

***What Are You Smoking, January 2022?***

Just finished a bowl of PS Nougat in my Savinelli Canadian (lighter, pre-meal smoke). Also a bit of a risk as I had it during a work call; once in the past, this same group at the last minute changed up the plan and went on Zoom instead of the phone. I was forced to say I wasn't Zoom...

***What Are You Smoking, January 2022?***

A good choice all around. I'm curious how you happened upon the Kramer's blend (geography and all that).

***What Are You Smoking, January 2022?***

Eight State Burley (which continues growing on me) in a Pete Aran 408 -- while writing up some materials for a client. I've got another client who says they've cut the engagement check for me -- but they haven't signed the contact I sent. So I'm not quite buying a bunch of tobacco, or bourbon...

***What Are You Drinking?*** January 2022

As promised earlier, here's what I was told is the best IPA in Seattle. It was far milder than the "hops bombs" they often are (which maybe would go with a good lat bomb mix?). Over the weekend, we also hosted a friend of mine from high school -- Sazerac, wine with dinner and a few Manhattans...

***What Are You Smoking, January 2022?***

Kramer’s Blend for Cary Grant in my newest pipe — this Scott’s. I’m trusting the very light aromatics on top of their English blend won’t ghost it. If it does — it’ll be fine. With the Sunday NY Times and a cup of Irish breakfast tea. Enjoy the day all — I’ll assume a lot of football being watched.

If You Could Only Keep One...

This was about what I was thinking (which currently would mean a Kramer's Father Dempsey).

***What Are You Drinking?*** January 2022

And we'll save the bourbon for after, just to be safe! Enjoy the weekend. I will report on last night's drink later (I'm too far away from where I can find it) -- we had my brother over for dinner; he is visiting from Seattle and says it is Seattle's best IPA. It was great, not overly hoppy -- a...

***What Are You Smoking, January 2022?***

Been a busy work week so finally getting to a pipe (while doing some final bits of work ahead of two end of day calls, which I don't think will result in last-minute work, fingers crossed): Wanted something a little longer, so 2020 Cringle Flake in a Pete sandblast House Pipe. For all the weight...

***What Are You Drinking?*** January 2022

You're sure you got what you paid for, right? :) Some day, I trust, we'll find an opportunity to enjoy a nice bourbon a pipe together. Hope the rest of your week goes well, my friend.

Better this site than the EKG machine mid stress test! Glad the prelim report sounds like "no news is good news."

***What Are You Smoking, January 2022?***

Wessex Campaign Dark Flake in my Pete Aran 408 -- an easy pipe to smoke while I work. Considering double-dipping and having a second bowl, depending on how long the first takes me. The black mass in the background are booties that are drying for a surf session yesterday. Hope everyone's weeks go...

    Beware that Special Bourbon!

Hey all. Without running afoul of any forum rules, I thought I'd point people in this particular section to a story I saw over the weekend. I'll link to it and provide the key pieces: The story calls "super-premium American whiskey" as bottles above $50...
